kids are fucking assholes now-a-days i mean there all cocky little bastards...ok not all but a lot. me and my friends are into the whole big mountain thing since we live in utah and we got that shit right in our backyard and i love park skiing i think its bad as hell but i think its gay that one major reason i dont really progress with it is because im affraid of being ridicualed *sp* because when i do a rail i'll fall 7 out of 10 times and i think that is just fucking gay

 
Yea man it sucks falling in the park, especially with a whole bunch of kids staring you down. Thats one thing that sucks about the park, theres always some kid up there laughing. Not all kids are a-holes though, i've met a few myself that have given a few pointers. I definitely hear you man, Ride On.

fuck it man, go in there and hit shit up. As long as you commit then even if you crash it'll at least eb honourable. It's the newbies that think they're good, talk the talk, but when they go up to a jump they hesitate, go right fuckin slow, and look like tools as they eat shit. Those are the ones I make fun of, anybody honestly tryin, or just havin fun gets my respect in the park. Most kids are like that, at least where I'm from anyways.

Don't let other people dictate what you do. Everyone starts some place, and the only way to get good is by practice. Even if that means crashing 100 times and finally landing it the 101th time.

Let them laugh it up, but while they are sitting on the top making a fool out of themselves you'll be progressing and be able to take their ass real soon. Look, ski for yourself. Blur everyone else out. Get some music going and just go with it. And then just don't give a fuck.

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

 
whenever i don't land something i should i never worry about the ones sitting up there. at least at my park they all sit on there ass laughing at others when they couldn't do the easiest thing. they sit up there thinking they are god. screw the little monkeys

 
Just go in there, and if the kids want to talk smack who cares. I used to get all in my head if there was a kid in the park yelling shit, but then I realized it doesn't matter. Do your own thing, and ski with some good friends who are in the same boat. Besides, cliffs will always beat rails.

Same problem here. Just a while ago my friend got some scratch fs and was trying some new stuff (he's just learning) and some fag shouted from the lift 'u don't deserve those skis!' well, maybe he doesn't yet, but at least he's trying to get better... i guess he'll earn them soon enough

I know what you mean. I mean, I'm all up for the whole 'Do It For You, Who Cares What They All Think' mindset, but it does bother you. Just be comfident, and try to shut them out. It happens to me too.

And by the way, I think that that whole 'You Don't Deserve That_______' shit is so stupid. Why should you care? For one thing, they are doing their thing ad enjoying it. And two, they are putting money into the sport, be happy about it. Whatever, I just get that alot about my bike, and it just pisses me off.

Yea man, I'm that kid with the new Scratch fs'. Although it did kinda bring me down when that punk ass kid said that shit (cause it was my first run and first jump and I went straight air), it kinda pushed me to learn some stuff so that I could show the little fuckers up. What really pisses me off is the idiot skiers and snowboarders the go into the park but don't do any jumps, and just cut off right in front of you and dont have enough speed to get over the jump, THAT pisses me off.

I know what you mean I hate skiing in the park because of that factor. When I first started a couple of years ago none of my friends were skiing so I was the sole female and the sole skier riding. So I got little to no respect. You've just got to use the negative vibes to your advantage go home and get your skills up in privacy and then school them like it's no one's business. Which is absurd that you have to fight for respect among your peers, but I guess if everyone in this situation has empathy and makes effort to respect and help the people just starting out things can get better.

i think reading all these replys really helped my confidence cuz today i was in the park for like an hour 30 min just trying this one mailbox rail after i was nailing it perfect...not even worrying about not sliding the whole thing...then i did a 270 to death...who cares tho it was fun

only 15 but im not one to back down to some little bitch kid plus i ski with about 6 snowboarders who arent affraid of shit....i also like the looks on the kids faces that make fun of me or a friend of mine when we huck a cliff....we usually just kinda ride passed em with a grin on our faces

Yeah, lots of young punks around the park can get pretty annoying. I ride at a private club so they're all pretty nice kids. Attitude is one thing especially for kids but being a punk-ass is not necessary .. show some respect, especially to those people trying new stuff. Nothing pisses me off more than some rider who throws some sick d-spin something or other and turns into a hero ... that's not skiing. As much as I love the park and pipe, that's only one aspect to skiing (bumps, steeps, pow, etc) you're not a good skier if you're not dialed in to all those (or at elast trying to develop) all you are is a greasy little park munkey. LEARN TO SKI not just jib.

think of the park as a kiddie daycare. kids go there to wreck their skis, smash their teeth out and liquify their balls on rails instead of poaching your lines. If its not pure ice, I'm still down for hittin tables, just to keep the niblets in their place. call me old fashioned, but rails never really blew my skirt up. snoboarders are lucky enough to grind without bitching their edges.

No it's not golf buddy. It's never waiting in line ups and having management build the exact park you want and being asked to design the rails for that park. All I was saying is don't call yourself a wicked skier if you arc your skis like a tool between hits.

no, no. Tricks rock, I coach a program in the park and pipe ... it's just the next progression in skiing, like Hot Dogging and moguls and back country used to be. There just don't need to be negative attitudes and I think every skier should try to be well orunder. Racers should spend some time in the park .... and little pipemonkeys hould spend some time dialing in their technique on those days when its super cold and the park is too hard.

well i'm sort of a park rat but that's only cuz my molehills got 200 let and the only thing worth skiing is park. on the bitch kids, i hate little bitches, well where i ski you get kids who can't ski in giant packs of like 40 going thrue the park just getting in the way, on top of the screamin ho's.

yeah I live in rhodeisland w/ one small mountain (if u could call it that) and its all snow boarders. they have no respect for skiing and they all think its gay. and the funny thing is non of these kid have ever boarded anywhere else. I can tell cause my friends who have condos in nh have lots more respect for skiing. Ive even been told by boarders im not allowd to use the park and if I say im going to jib a rail they laugh at me. the only good that comes out of this is the look on their faces when they realize im throwin cooler shit than them

 
serious little kids cn be pricks. ive only skiied for like 3 years and just starting freestyle stuff , when i fall on a rail little snowboard pricks will start yellin 'outta the way' while im mid air. CHILL U STARTED AT ONE POINT TOO
