I just heard on the radio that people are trying to press charges against the kids and their parents, including jail time. Now I do think these kids are fucking stupid and need some discipline, but the hate train is getting on a scary track here. The public humiliation is justice in itself, and although you can say money wont heal that woman's wounds, neither will imprisoning these kids/ their parents. Maybe the parents are actually wonderful people, and the kids just wanted to be badasses, like little kids often do

I am going to agree that national humiliation is enough punishment for a 12 year old. lesson learned, I would hope.
 
i will agree that what what these kids did was awful and they do deserve punishment, i disagree that they should face jail time, if they had actually caused here permanant mental or physical harm, perhaps, but since it was not, it should really just be from the school district.
 
in addition, by the way i am in no way taking the blame off the kids. But, i just don't understand how it got as far as it did, as she did have authority over them, how come she didn't just threaten them with suspension, and what was the bus driver doing, what let it get as far as it did?
 
They are also trying to get all the donations tax free. God damn enough is enough she is going to make over a million if this shit keeps up. Maybe I should start a website where people donate to me because I'm broke and homeless trying to get a college education that should get me a couple million if it goes viral.
 
Why all the money and shit, what will it do? The only way to truly help would be spread this video as a warning not to do this type of shit. How is giving this woman money supposed to help prevent future harassment and what not....

I hope she donates some of this money. She is making over $100 a minute. It would have made more sense if they had donations to corporations for bully awareness, Instead of all the money going to her.

This is my viewpoint:

When watching that video I, as I'm sure most people, wished that they could step in and help that lady out. Probably by getting those kids away from her by any means (mine would have been violence). I'm sure most people felt helpless.

When the opportunity came that they could do something that would be positive towards the woman, people jumped on it. Probably hoping that their donation would help her get away from those kids, either from a vacation or having enough to retire.

I have no problem with her keeping every dime of what she gets. If I donated, it would be in the wish that she does whatever she wants to make herself happy. Let's be honest, any of those "anti-bullying" groups or funds, and these bullying "teams" are a joke anyways. If I had any wish for her to donate, it would be towards a lobbyist that would fight to allow teachers to hit kids again.

I say fuck you. If someone gave me half a million dollars because they felt bad for me, you bet your ass I'm keeping all of it. I'd rub it in those snot nosed kids faces every single fucking minute of the day, and blow the exhaust of my new Ferrari in their parents' mouths.
 
I would do the same I just don't understand the people that donate $50 to a woman that has over 500,000 think they are making an actual difference. Why not donate your money to a charity or something that will actually make a change. If I was that lady I would buy my self a Ferrari Italia.

How do you donate to Anit-Bullying. I know there are organizations and stuff, but what the fuck do they need money for? It's not like telling a kid "Don't bully" is going to make them stop, and you don't need money for that, anyway.
 
Yes, it will. It raises awareness of horrible things like this and can help prevent it, if everyone or most people are truly against it things will change. The start of this is certain programs. Just my opinion but I believe it can help.
 
So, you're essentially throwing your money away so that someone can "raise awareness" about bullying? They can do that without donations. It's not like there's a cure to be discovered.
 
thats dumb as well though, because people gave to HER for a reason, and if she just turned around and donated to some charity, then it kinda screws the people that gave to her because they could have just given straight to the charity if they wanted to

Well with money comes responsibility and she got a hell of a a lot of money, However I was mainly addressing people who"donated" to her or would do so not really her, as well as hoping she donated some of it too.

It just blows my mind that people can be upset about the money she has received. She didn't ask for shit, and isn't even pressing charges on the kids. She's clearly a sad, old woman with no self-esteem, and now people are upset with HER, because she's not donating the money to charity. That's pretty fucked up.
 
No, it would be nice to donate it, many people who receive massive sums of money donate it or a portion of it. I agree she didn't ask for the money and can do what she wants with it but IMO I would have more respect and reason to donate if she donated some of it to charity. It is often expected that a nice wealthy person would donate some of their money. Can you at least recognize my point and treat it with some decency? I have recognized your point and agree partially with it.

The fact people assume handing this woman half a million dollars is a good plan is insane, she has not earned a cent. She was tormented but little puke kids... so fucking what?

Think of all the other kids in the world that get this horrible treatment from little bastard kids like the ones in the video. At least this lady had all the power in the world to stop her abuse where as the child that is abused in the same manner has no way to stop the harassment. She could have walked up to the front of the bus, told the bus driver to stop the bus and booted those little pukes from the bus seeing as its her FUCKING JOB TO DO THAT. Her constant abuse from these children would have been solved if she had done her job properly in the first place... so we reward her 500k? Something just does not make sense.

She maybe an old lady with low self esteem and a troubled past but if you can not do your job maybe its an indication that you should try another field of work?

There is so many more just causes in the world to throw money at than a 70 year old woman who lets herself be bullied by middle schoolers.

How will this money help this lady? She will maybe retire and not have to face these children again but who is to say this will make her happy? To me it appears she has some personal issues to allow herself to be abused by children.

Its just common sense that is overlooked in this viral video and donation hype. If you take a few minutes to think about what went down here it would be clear that she does not deserve half a million dollars.
