I don't get it. Unless he sold/exchanged/ or produced the cd's at school I don't see how the school has any grounds for suspension/expulsion.
I do understand that we are in times of high security alert, between Columbine and the more recent outbreaks of terrorism in the US. I can see why they are taking any and all threats seriously.
If the principal felt threatened by the kid saying 'I'm going to beat your ass down'', then that's fine. But it's a PERSONAL matter. nothing to do with the school.
If you were in the mall, and talking to your friends about how much you hate your chemistry teacher Mrs. Smith, and if Mrs. Smith was inside a store. Does she have the right to suspend you from school? That's the question. I feel she has the right like everyone else to report to the police if she feels threatened, but that has nothing to do with the school.
