An errant snowball led to a stabbing in southeast Portland Tuesday afternoon, police said.

About 1 p.m., officers arriving at the 4800 block of SEWoodstock Boulevard found 17-year-old Timothy Ray Garcia with a stab wound to his upper body.

Police arrested 36-year-old John Preston Grant for assault.

Witnesses told officers that the victim and a group of friends were throwing snowballs at each other when one of the snowballs struck a moving vehicle driven by the suspect.

The suspect got out of his vehicle and started a fight with the group, which escalated to a stabbing. He then drove off but returned a short time later and turned himself in to officers at the scene.

Garcia was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

wow what a ass hole seriously.. haha i remember this one time i hit a car with a snow ball . i ran and my friend goes out and says "oh im sorry my friend is mentally retarded" and he ended up knowing the person quite funny.
 
you got to understand.. it never ever snowes in portland.. let alone enough to stick on the ground.. so people cannot handle it. at all
 
like ive been chased and shit... and i got tagged last nite but thank god i had some water balloons just in case. .got the little fucker in the head...
 
first snow of the year my buddies were throwing snowballs at cars on a kinda busy road... after one of the cars stopped they jumped in his one of the kids car and started driving away, they started getting chased and ran head on into a tree at 30 mph. no one in the car was wearing seat belts and luckly no one got hurt. but thats just really a bad idea
 
We (my family) were driving to Whietler once and there were these fag as kids on top of an overpass in Vancouver dropped this big "snowball" type thing on our windshield, it almost broke the windshield and could have easily resulted in a bad accident, not cool. Me and my friends throw snowballs at cars all the time but nobody relly cares.
 
portland oregon is where my bindings i ordered have reached via UPS. And they havent checked in anywhere today. Was there a mail truck involved at all?
 
some kid at my school got beat up by some old dude for throwing snowballs at cars. i heard the story literally 100 times from this one kid two years ago
 
ye some 40 year old dude tried to fight me last season over a snowball. most people dont care bout snowballs its just a bit of harmless fun, but others just take it too far

its all fun n games until someone gets stabbed over it though
 
i love how it says the kids were throwing them at each other but really they were just hucking them at cars
 
hahaha i did that to a guy one time and he got out of the car and yelled at us. he was like "ur lucky im not a fuckin nigger they woulda shot u" and i started laughin so hard. he just said what the fuck and drove off and we were all laughin.
