Kid at breck & the reason the jumps were closed

apparently some kid tucked into the 1st jump on the left from the top of the park and overshot it wwwwaaaayyyyyy too far and landed at the begging of the second lip and is now in a coma
 
what? Is that even possible? Your talking about the line with the channel gap at the end right? I dont know where you could get that much speed from.
 
what jump was it? the ones right by the lift? the really big ones to the right as your going up? or the smaller ones?
 
yea and another guy yesterday caught an edge and knuckled fracturing his pelvis........ knarly day.

and yes thats not the first time thats happened a guy did it two years ago as well. with no helmet, he was in a coma for a while, but eventually recovered
 
i have now been told that the kid is dead. i'm not 100% on that, but pretty much everyone i have asked has told me the same thing.
 
you guys are funny...he did not try and clear both jumps. He did not even land on the lip of the second jump. He just went way too fast and landed flat past the landing of the first jump. Since Brecks first and second jump are close together i can see that happening. But if the first jump the table is 45 feet of so and 50 to the sweet sopt, he prolly went 100 or so, maybe 120.
 
talked to a kid on park crew that showed up on the scene and he definitely landed at the beginning of the second lip
 
Damnnnnnn. My buddy was telling me about that. Said apparently it was a full out screamin semen to death. Said the kid was barely breathing. Hope he gets better. It would really suck for the sport to lose somebody with that much balls.
