So heads up its amazing waist deep. my advice is head up this weekend, for the weekend and ski your brains out they are open sat and sun until the 15 and then are going to be fully open
 
to hell with that, it's going to be a gong show. I'm going to castle opening day instead. They have crazy pow too and no crowds, and besides I heard they weren't even gonna have the top chairlift open at kicking horse, a total gong show.
 
err...not tryin to nay say but id have to agree....

kicking horse is just like castle with the crowds....but kicking horse is going to have the snow....and even when kicking horse is busy...its hard to notice...or well thats what ive found but ski whatever...a day of skiing is a day of skiing
 
ya castle! kicking horse is going to suck! castle is so ill with the old double chair and small verticle go there for sure and screw you to the person who started this thread
 
castle has about 3000 vertical and thats pretty damn good

and by the way don't you ski at sunshine. You shouldn't be saying shit about castle's vertical if you ski there all the time and don't say any shit about the ski out being part of sunshine's vertical cause that doesn't count
 
I work for sunshine! and ya it has little vert but its close and gets the job done. I didn't say castle wasn't sick but the horse has way more snow and its my home hill.
 
wesmantooth you angry fiend. i cant imagine who would want to go and spend a weekend at the horse. i know im not at all excited..... i would seriously stay away from that awful place, what garbage!
 
hy hose is dope but castle is jsut as sweet cuase barely anyone ever goes there. im just saying they have recieved a shit load of snow and that it would be amazing on this coming weekend dont get your panties in a bunch
 
yeah, as for castle being crowded, i think it will start to get more and more busy as the years go on. so keep it on the d.l. as much as possible. plus they had that warren miller promo vid. hopefully that new chair will take away some of the traffic from the red chair.

Post how the conditions were if you went this weekend.
 
yeah i found it really difficult to notice hour long lift lines. the snow was amazing but the place was a fucking gong show. I love how they have spent $150 million on the resort but only have the one gondola and the one chair. the need at least two more chairs. they need sacces from fuze bowl back up to stairway and they need to open superbowl and make a chair to the backside of terminator. those lift lines were fucking retarded.
 
you should have gone up sunday man. Most people left and there were no lines. They also opened feuz bowl sunday.But they seriouslly need to open some more shit. I think there is a map in the daylodge of where they plan on building some stuff, hopefully they get on that soon, like for next year.
 
Don't bitch about lift lines at Kickinghorse, go ski there. They have an 11-lift plan in place, the only thing holding them back from installing more lifts is the lack of skier visits. So either join the keep-Kho-undeveloped team, or pimp the resort to everyone you meet. Either way, no complaining about lift lines.
 
isnt it in a national park to or is that my imagination, cause if it is it will never get 11 lifts look at lake louise richardson ridge and wolverine ridge have had proposed lifts for long ass time
 
buddy the lines were an hour +. it was stupid. The horse is so sick during the week, but on opening weekend and and fresh days, the need a better system then everything funneling down to one gondola. is there a place where you can view the terrain for this proposed 11 lift plan. they really only need two more lifts. one from above the double chair, running up CPR ending right by the gondola and resturant. and then on from above the bottom quad up onto the backside of terminator into superbowl. that would be sick.
 
wow I just got back and it was sick. kinda moguled up but I could tell on a pow day it would rival whistler
