Hey Guys, anyone who's going to be around the Kicking Horse area next week (7-12) we're going to be shooting a big ass Table on Tuesday and wednesday as long as the weather is good.

It was finalized today, the Mtn gave the thumbs up on letting me build a big ass table (75+ feet hopefully) to do a shoot on, I think they want to get some music and everything up there and make a bit of an event out of it. there will be myself and a few other skiers AND Snowboarders there sessioning it for a day or two. If you're in the area you should come check it out.

I heard that kicking horse is filing for bankruptcy, quite the shitty buzz, not to mention, that there isnt gonna be ne snow there in a week or two. youd be better off to drive the 2.5 hours up to louise and just extend on of the tables in the pro line.

^um, how about not! the snow in KH is sick right now, a bit of a hike to get to fresh stuff but when you get it it's quality. Not to mention there's a storm in the forcast, it was trying to snow up there off and on all day.

^ the park on the lower mtn is in the works for the future once they get Snowmaking and more summer grooming done but they're talking about puting one in up in Crystal Bowl next year, kinda over towards skiers Left, then you can spin laps on the Stairway To Heaven Chair, it's a pretty good area for some small features and rails, should be a good start anyways.

I'll be there Tuesday, skiing from Weds-Sunday.

I haven't hit many tables this year though, due to shitty weather down in vancouver. I'll come check it out for sure though.

how did the sesh go? My buddies were going to check it out. I was there last week and you were telling the three of us in the gange-ola about the table top. When I left it looked like they just had built the inrun and the take off, no landing. Have they fixed that?

After my first trip to kicking horse, it was awesome - very impressed with the skiing, skiers and everything about the mountain. It will be great to have a park for days like last week when there was no pow and hiking only led to tracked out areas.

Are you going to be back at Whistler for the big jam in April?

well day one was off the hook. 80 feet, the smoothest jump I think I've ever hit, when you make the landing that is. It was like you never left the ground. Day 2 is about to kick off this afternoon (thursday) and a bunch more skiers rolled into town. Yesterday there was only myself and PY Leblanc today however Riley Leboe and some of the Silver Star posse are in and Charlie Ager, Joel Nagge and a couple other Whistlerites drove all night to get here and are currently strwen accros my moms house trying to get an hour of sleep. there was about 6 snowboarders hitting it yesterday including a couple local guys. Kevin Sansalone and some of the other SKids are supposed to be here today. Should be one hell of a show!

i think saying a mountain shouldn't have a park is kinda stupid. No matter how good the snow and the terrain are, there's still shitty times with no snow, or spring time conditions. parks are essential to all around fun.

Sure, when they get the money... I feel that there are worthier improvements currently.

The things is that, people travel to Kicking Horse for incredible in/out of bounds steeps and pow.

If the snow's shitty, most skiers are going to hit up Lake Louise's park. To build a comparable park, it would cost Kicking Horse hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of $ (likely millions). Even if this did happen... Lake Louise would remain 2 hours closer to most people.

Expand on the bread and butter.

A Park is actually very essential for shitty snow times, that and it just ads variety for the visitors. If a family comes to ski the mtn and they have kids alot of those kids are going to ride a park if the conditions are shitty on the hill and they don't have the experience or equipment to go out of bounds. it's actually a really practical Idea.

Ryerson: The FUCKING IDIOT that broke his collar bone was some jackoff french ski racer who thought he'd be cool and poach the jump even after he, and his family, were told that he was going to die if he hit it, serves the retard right! It's no different than someone who's illequip or unknowledgable about the back country to head out of bounds, it's a bad idea and they're going to get hurt.

Good show all together though...Gave all the locals a good chuckle seeing the hill invaded by a posse of thugs on day 2! Haven't seen that many doo-rags and bandanas for a long time.

I guess it depends what scale we're talking about... A few rails and a few jumps couldn't hurt; relatively cheap, easy to maintain, doesn't take up much space and wouldn't need its own lift.

To build a class park would be the exact opposite; expensive, takes a lot of work, takes up space (guess it doesn't really matter), and would likely need its own lift.

With Louise so close, I don't think KH would get a big enough market share to make it worthwhile. A new lift would make KH more money in my opinion... we'll see what management decides in the next few.

high traffic areas and people will be able to lap

Stairway chair if they choose. Talking about

"Marketshare" is nonsense though, it's all about

enjoying your ski/riding wherever you are at all times

sure Louise is an hour away, but some families and

people aren't going to Louise on their vacation, and

some of the locals don't want to drive an hour or pay

for a lift ticket at Louise if they've already got a pass

for the Horse. if there wasn't a market for a park

thereyou wouldn't see sidehill hits carved out of

every possible spot on the mtn. I've talked to a huge

number of the locals and by locals I mean people I'm

talking about people I went to School with. They all

agree that it's a great idea, especially during the

poor snow times. If the snow is good and people

choose to ride the park still then it's their fault for

smoking crack, but when the conditions are less than

optimal a park is a great way to still enjoy your time

on any mountain.

I think you might've misunderstood:

I'm talking about a bigger expensive park that is. A park that's so big that people are attracted to come to Kicking horse (or buy a pass) SIMPLY or mainly influenced by their park. I imagine that there wouldn't be a large enough market between the two resorts for THAT considering the costs (well at least for the now).

Again, a smaller park couldn't hurt KH... and it sounds like that's what they are headed towards, and that's awesome.

All those groomers at the bottom on the catamount chair would be good for loooots of rails.

Not really ideal for big jumps, but it doesn't seem like anyone uses that chair.

I wouldn't suggest the hostel.

They have bed bugs more often than not in their beds.

I stayed there and 2 people that were there at the same time got them, but I got lucky and didn't.

The place is kind of cool because it's just a house, it's pretty homey feeling, but the bed bugs would suck.
