Kickflip tips

I have been trying to kickflip for probably a year now and I was so close to it on my old board and I've been close to it for about a year. I just can't kickflip, please NS, teach my how to kickflip!

they are the hardest tricks to learn but once you get em so easy. once you have the flip down trip catching your board at the end of its rotation with your back foot. just repetition back sure your front foot always lands on the board its a bad habit to only have your back foot land on the board.

for real when i was first gettin into skateboarding I could varial flip, and heel flip, but just couldnt seem to fuckin get the kickflip down. So i was on a homies trampaline with a skate deck and i was landing the shit outta em. It was at night so I couldnt try on my actual skate yet. So the next day we were skatin and I busted a kickflip my second try. Im sayin take your shit to tha trampoline cuzzin!

try it stationary for as long as it takes and you will get it took me 2 and a half continuous hours to get it but i can now kickflip

u need to remember to jump. that was my problem at first. i wouldnt jump, or pop/ ollie high enough so i would catch the board low. also remember to suck up your knees.

its a flick. not a kick. thats key. its all one quick snap of the ankle. also, try leaving more of your foot on then you would expect. i have most of my foot on, but at an angle. by doing so, the board will come up and meet your feet, rather than the hideous flick-it-and-pray-you-land-on-it style kickflips. and if it IS coming up to your feet so you catch it, you should actually catch back foot first, thus making that problem easier.

id also guess if your back foot is coming off its because you arent staying over it enough, you are leaning too far over your back foot. hope that helps

I had the same problem when I was learning em. It's a tough habit to break but you got to catch them with your back foot, once my buddy explained that it made them a lot easier to figure out.

Another thing that helped me was when I was doing them stationary on the deck of a mimi ramp using the railing. I'd face the railing and put my hands it, so when I popped I'd keep my weight on the railing so I could keep my feet up for a second longer which helped me learn how to catch them properly. (if that makes sense)

Good luck man, it can be frustrating but you'll get it.

Don't look at trick tips. They only teach you how to do it their way. Each person has a preferred way to k-flip.

Since you are asking, I will say that I started out by putting my foot completley on the edge of the board right by the front bolts. It looked awful, but it worked. Slowly as you get more comfortable with them you can move your foot further down and more inwards. I now have the same foot positioning for my kickflip as my ollie. You get a lot more pop. It makes them look steezy as shit. That is if you practice enough. Just take it in steps guy.

it took me 4 solid years to learn them and my shins are fucking raw from them too
just practice practice practice, they are so hard to learn, but once you have them you can land them first try on flatground everyday

you dont need them once you learn them obviously, but when learning my shins got hit so many fucking times.....I recommend them

This is how I kinda learned kickflips. I kept my foot at a pretty significant angle and got a good flick, but after doing it like that for years my friend showed me that I should keep my foot at a very little angle if any at all.

All of a sudden my kickflips were much more consistent. Less angle = less chance that the board flies out ahead of you, for me at least.
