i know man.
and i think this will be my letter to them sent soon.
Hi, my name is Nick Riani. I am 17 years old and have been skiing at smuggs for the last 10 years I have lived in Jericho. During my ten years i have had absolutely no issues whatsoever with ski patrol or any mountain employees, but recently on February 16 a poor decision was made on the part of me and three fellow skiers and riders to jump the lift at a very low spot on madonna one to ride down the m1 headwall. We know we deserve to have some sort of punishment for this, but at the time we did not realize that it was such a danger to others to jump off. We thought jumping off of the lift could hurt only ourselves, we were completely unaware that it could cause the lift to derail or buck dangerously. When our passes were taken we were told that they would be suspended for the remainder of the season. Although we realize now that what we did was unsafe and warrented punishment, I think it is slightly unreasonable that our passes be removed for the remainder of the season. None of the members of the group have ever had previous warnings or issues, so I think it would be fair to give us at least a slightly less harsh punishment so we can continue to use the passes we had all paid for. We have all put a lot of money into this mountain over the last decade and we hope that our first issue with breaking of rules can be treated as such. If nothing can be done to change the punishment then I would like to appologize for our actions and say that, hopefully, i will be able to purchase a pass next year and continue to enjoy the mountain that i have ridden at since i was learning to ski.
Thanks,
Nick.
