Kicked Out for Jumping off Lift

So today at Smuggs, a bunch of buddies and I jumped off Modana 1 on upper lift line which was closed. We ripped the shit out of it and the snow sloughed/avyed off of it. When we got back onto the lift at the top there was like 7 or so patrolers who immediatly took our passes and made us ride down the lift. Then once we got back to the bottom the escorted us off into the patrol room where we got lectured and they told us we might never get our passes back and we have a warrant to not step foot on smugglers notch property until we do get them back. Well it was the best run ive ever had so im not regreting it, but i kinda want my pass back. any advice?

find a new hill, and once you do don't do anything as dumb as that to get yourself kicked out. Don't get me wrong, a good run is a good run, but to lose your pass over isn't worth it. you gotta think bro....

Thats the kinda stuff you do in late march during huge spring dumps. You lose like what a week or two of skiing.

buy some cocain. take some it ll shut your brain down.

then buy a gun.

then go rob a bank.

with the money buy a new pass and some more cocain cause you might get addicted.

but you ll have a new pass.

and you can go SKIING !!!!

i know people who did that about 2 weeks ago...

but now u pushed alll the snow off and it isnt gonna open for awhile, damn, looke dsick tohugh, i was thinkin of doing that

about 5 feet, no joke. they said its really dangerous because the wire could fall off the poles and then the whole lift could fall down??? but its kinda ridiculously funny worth it though

jumping off the lift is pretty dangerous, the sudden loss of weight bounces the line and can cause it do get bucked off one of the towers, or throw unsuspecting riders off the lift above or below you from the bounce. if a patroller saw you or was informed of people jumping off i'd say what happened to you would happen 100% of the time.

dude who are you? i ski ther every weekend. im max b from essex. that sucks man, but hows the snow? i mean it must be good considering you skid the m1 liftline, thats sick. was it heavy pow?

and yea a bunch of my freinds got there passes taken away 2 weeks ago, but then met with the ski patrollers and only got them clipped (vid in the next few weeks! hah) but yea just be really polite and agree with everything they say. because a freind of ours didnt and he ended up having to let them keep it for the rest of teh day with no ride home sittin in the lodge while we were rippn.

sucks man

ahh upper lift line, freshies sounds dope as hell, such a good pitch too! thats shitty, I would suck mad cock and just do what it takes to get them back, be super apologetic and shit. might work... might not

hey whats up im chris g from mmu you might know some of my buddies maybe nick riani he was with me. but ya it was really sick it actually slid so theres no more snow on the headwall except the ice

today my friend got harrassed by ski patrol twice because some kid with the same coat as him jumped off the lift into some nice powder on the weekend and when teh ski patrol gave chase the kid escaped.

i know man.

and i think this will be my letter to them sent soon.

Hi, my name is Nick Riani. I am 17 years old and have been skiing at smuggs for the last 10 years I have lived in Jericho. During my ten years i have had absolutely no issues whatsoever with ski patrol or any mountain employees, but recently on February 16 a poor decision was made on the part of me and three fellow skiers and riders to jump the lift at a very low spot on madonna one to ride down the m1 headwall. We know we deserve to have some sort of punishment for this, but at the time we did not realize that it was such a danger to others to jump off. We thought jumping off of the lift could hurt only ourselves, we were completely unaware that it could cause the lift to derail or buck dangerously. When our passes were taken we were told that they would be suspended for the remainder of the season. Although we realize now that what we did was unsafe and warrented punishment, I think it is slightly unreasonable that our passes be removed for the remainder of the season. None of the members of the group have ever had previous warnings or issues, so I think it would be fair to give us at least a slightly less harsh punishment so we can continue to use the passes we had all paid for. We have all put a lot of money into this mountain over the last decade and we hope that our first issue with breaking of rules can be treated as such. If nothing can be done to change the punishment then I would like to appologize for our actions and say that, hopefully, i will be able to purchase a pass next year and continue to enjoy the mountain that i have ridden at since i was learning to ski.

Thanks,

Nick.

I love jumping lifts it is always the shit and you usually ski sick lines. I just bring a backpack and another jacket sometimes depending if I'm wearing a jacket that stands out

ohhh yea. im friends with 2 kids at essex that met nick at the burton sale. did you guys go after ur school got let out earl?

and damn essex didnt? luckkkyy

is this just something which goes on in the uK, the whole Nazi-style Patrol, I ski Europe and I've pulled some crazy stunts before but I've never had my pass taken off me, I know a guy who crashed in to a ski school group (yea I mean the group as a whole, they all collapsed ha ha ) the ski instructor caught up with him and took his pass and his home address from him and said he'd send it back in a week, but that's the only time I've ever known anyone have there pass taken... also, topless skiing seems to be commonplace in some resorts at the end of the season, no one gives a fuck though....

ya we got let out at 11:30, so we went up

but essex didnt have school last friday and we only had a half day so were even
