Keystone/breck

i bet they both will have a flat box and small dub kink and a flat bar.... maybe a corrigated tube and a mini jump? breck will be crowded but well maintained, keystone will be more crowded and less maintained

keystone had way more than that 2 years ago, and breck had a double line 2 years ago, guess we'll just have to see, but i heard a rumor of 30 features at key.

I heard rumor that Breck was opening with a jump line, and I heard keystone will have a mini jump line too... 30 features at key would be sick, but if they put it in the same spot they did last year it'll be sooooo crowded. It's only a few days away though!!!

huh mini jump line? i was up there today and i doubt it, but prove me wrong breck! I just dont see how they would get any sort of jump line going at this point.

haha yep.

any word on jumps at breck? might have to lurk up the mt. tomorrow to figure out the sitch.

I emailed breck asking what features they would have this weekend and here's what they sent me back:

"Most likely

there will be no features open this weekend. However, Mother Nature

will determine how quickly features become available.

Think Snow!!"

that is purely weather dependant. I can't really say at this point. Will have a better idea come monday.

And, keystone was retarded. Pretty similar to last years early setup so about 30 features but pretty tight spacing. It was fucking great in the morning but was getting way too crowded in the afternoon. The had riverrun open to the bottom and the new gondola worked way better than montezuma and downloading did last year.
Also heard that breck had nothing set up, didn't actually go there since keystone was pretty much awesome, park crew actually kept it semi decent too, no bomb holes I could find.

mayhaps I'll be at breck monday. Vail resorts thinks its cool to ban all their off-duty employees from breck/key opening weekend. So basin again for me :O

Breck had 4 features today.

A down bar, looked like a massive ollie on. A mellow DFD rail with a ollie on.

A flat box, and a DFD box. It was fun, but nothing spectacular.

keystone is dialed as shit, opened up with a fun ass park, everything was set up perfect and actually prettty well maintained, were stayin in this dope ass condo but leavin for a few days but if anybody needs a place to stay from tuesday night till friday you can come crash if you buy me some beer

ill lay down the key setup...

a couple flat boxes, one of em is sooo fun

downbox/rail i seshed the rail all day

flat bar/hotdog box

couple wall rides/stalls/propane tank

2 little 10 ft jumps

I don't know whether to go to Keystone or Abay tomorrow, I will definitely do Keystone on Monday though.

breck has 4 features. two boxes in a line (flat box, downflatdown box) and then two rails (down rail, down flat down) Both of the rails are urb style / decent ollie on. Good fun, super easy to hike, not too insanely crowded.

i thought keystone was pretty legit. yea theres mad people but we all kind of know each other. its just a shit ton of skiers owning the crap out of everything. good times.

keystone this weekend was so much fun, i could pretty much go to every feature and see a kid im friends with hitting it. basically one big party, good times indeed
