Keynote Skier teaser thoughts?

If you haven't already checked out the teaser for B-dogs "Keynote skier" you should definitely watch that pronto.

Just wanted to see what everyones opinions are, hype level on the real deal coming out, so on and so forth. Thought it may be a good idea to start a discussion about the movie (Since I'm personally a huge fan of Phil and his incredible style) I thought they did a great job a the teaser. They kept it fresh, had a great soundtrack, and Phil's style still remains the same. Also looked like a good blend of urban, park and BC.

So yea, share your thoughts on the teaser and expectations on what the real deal will look like. Curious to see what you guys have to say for sure.

Thanks!

The teaser is on point. I'm really stoked for the movie. September 17th, can't wait!

quite a few moments i had to rematch. can't say I've always been the biggest fan of b-dog since muddy winter came out, but i have to say this looks pretty ridiculous!

I love the skiing, I'm just always worried when new inspired stuff comes out, because a lot of the time the editing makes it really hard to watch.

I can actually dig the editing to a certain point, but you're right, at some times it is a little over done.

Looks like this one may have less of that, but who knows! We'll just have to wait and find out.

I've really started to like the more raw style of editing. There's just so much RED camera super slow-mo out there I find myself tiring of it.

saw a couple spots i know of, but dying to know where the quad kink is. maybe one day I'll either find it on my own or do some networking...

I can agree with that for sure. I wanna see edits filmed with tapes come back so bad.

There's a lot of this in Skateboarding right?

This. I thought stept does a pretty good job at keeping the clips raw. Mutiny had a small soundtrack some of the segs were just a small beat and they used the sounds to create it. Minimal slow mo

The Hood Crew is pretty good at this. I've seen part of this year's movie and its all dirty and filmed with a ton of different cameras. It gives a wicked vibe.

I cannot say I agree, I DO however have a certain degree of respect for this style, however, 10 times out of 10 i prefer higher production value shots... or "RED camera super slow-mo"

For example love the hood crew, and everything they do, however i would enjoy their edits a lot better if they used a damn glidecam. The Raw-ness is good to a certain extent, but some of those shots combined with that editing is a headache waiting to happen, at least for my aesthetics.

My exact thoughts. Raw editing is only good to a certain extent, and you obviously have to know what you're doing if you wanna get that sorta effect in moies.

In my opinion... From watching the trailer, it looks like Keynote will be a lot less over-edited. Which I would be really stoked about. Love Phil's skiing/style/music choice/most of his editing. As long as this video isn't crazy edited like Education of Style, I think it'll be a good'n

i can't believe people voted that they hated b dogs style. how can you not love it?

The first Big O shoot was sick as fuck. I've wanted to see skiers do something with that thing for years but never imagined it getting hit like that.

Raw? I get what you're saying but I wouldn't consider things like Let It Flow or this teaser to be raw. Too much editing was done IMO and it makes me concentrate less on the skiing and more on the screen flares or whatever the hell is going on. The Hood Crew does it well because it maintains a rawness while not detracting from the actual skiing. B-Dog's part in Let It Flow was slightly nauseating at times because of the editing. I love the skiing but at times the editing just needs to be cut down a little. Just my opinion

What skiing needs is what Ty Evans has done. Not a ton of slow mo red footage, but instead use those reds with a fat fisheye and stabilizing rig. Along with some normal tele photo lens shots. Watch "pretty sweet" and you'll know what I mean. Perfect blend of great filming but not too artsy.

Maybe I should retreat to the old farts on TGR because I know his skiing is technical as hell... but it doesn't do it for me. It's almost too technical for me to enjoy watching. I also hated the music and his hoodie is so damn baggy you can't even tell that he is oozing style. I thought we decided tall-t's were 2007.

That said, he's a fucking beast and I love that there's pros are out there pushing the sport in their own unique ways and causing people like myself to complain about it.

Loved the teaser and looking forward to the showing of it along with Henriks "Road to Zion" here in Mpls September 26th.

im so hyped for this a henriks movie.

as long as they dont ruin them with effects like they always do.
