No swing states have gone either way. Bush has his base and kerry has his. They also havent called california for kerry yet and it undoubtedly will go that way so theres a bunch of kerry points right there

I really do think that Bush will be a much more moderate second term president than he was in his first term. Look for some key cabinet positions to go to democrats.

During the first four years, a president has to be more moderate, because he wants to be reelected. He has to play to a larger voter base. In his second term, he can't be reelected, so he can do pretty much what he wants as long as he isn't impeached. So he's less likely to be moderate. I don't see why you would say that he'll be moremoderate.

Its a trend throughout politics that second term presidents have wanted to leave a legacy, or in other words, bring the two sides together. He knows how polarized the country is and if he leaves his second term like that, he wont be remembered how he wants to be.

See, but that's a really weak argument, because you're assuming his personal motives. He's run his platform as 'I believe in my convictions even when they aren't popular', which is a big change from 'Uniter, not divider' (which has proven to be untrue, the country is surely more divided than it ever has been). So I don't see him trying to be moderate. It seems more likely, from what I've seen from him in the past 4 years, that he will try to accomplish what he sees as his goals no matter WHAT the opposition thinks.
