bush had 3.5 million more votes than kerry. he had the majority. Kerry wasn't that close at all.

if Kerry wins Ohio, him conceeding doesnt really mean anything, he can still be president. It was a gesture of good faith on the part of Kerry

Even if he had won ohio, he wouldn't have won the election. There were still at least 20 more electoral votes up for grabs, Michigan, Wisconson, New Mexico, Hawaii, and I think there was one or two more, but Bush had a couple of those pretty much wrapped up.

Kerry did the right thing. Gore did not 4 years ago
