people who want to argue that its not a high class event are simply wrong. there is very little room for discussion. church hill downs is like a palace, the amount of money won and loss in in the hundreds of millions, and some of the wealthiest people in the world pay huge amounts of money for track side suits. race tracks are very similar to casinos in that they attract a group of people interested only in blowing their money and getting drunk, which is why there is the option of cheaper infield tickets. however, like any gaming resort, that group of people doesnt really represent the true culture of the event.
sure, the infield is gonna be a slop show, but if you look at the people who are actually in the grandstand, it is ridiculously classy. the net worth of each of those people is probably more than the net worth of most african countries
