kendrick's verse in this new big sean track might actually be the craziest shit i have ever heard. sorry about it being edited. cant find the explicit anywhere. just dropped yesterday and this seems to be the only version floating around. kendrick starts fucking up the world around 3:00 i believe

These are a bunch of tweets from rappers and music moguls reacting to kendricks verse in control. He was in no way being disrespectful to the other guys or calling them out. He just wants to see rap become all it can be, he is simply trying to inspire everyone else to up their game and get on his level. He is at the top there is no doubt about it he murders every track and feature he goes on and he has got flow and lyrics unlike anyone ive ever heard.
 
Yup. Verse of a generation right there. Game just got a pulse back. Joell Ortiz just came with some BARS in response. It isn't Kendrick. but honestly, the fact that he inspired such an incredible verse really just proves his whole point.
 
I like Kendrick, his verse was dope and I love that he mentioned names in his verse. Something most rappers are afraid to do nowadays. But Joell Ortiz got this one

I ride with Joell Ortiz and Slaughterhouse all day. No group/clique in the game is fucking with them lyrically.

stirred up the pot and brought the competitiveness back to hip hop. whoever downvoted your post probably listens to drake and wayne exclusively. barely anyone knows true lyricism anymore and kendrick helped the revival
 
Chill out with that Control verse. The only reason people are flipping shit is because Kendrick name dropped which has been uncommon in rap in the last few years. If that song would've come out in the 90's, no one would've thought anything of it. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty damn good, but people's expectations in rap have become so low that this verse being considered a GOAT even. Honestly, it's not even Kendrick's best verse.
 
Like you said, it's pretty fucking good. And like you said, he name dropped which really hasn't happened in a long while. Name 3 other rappers and their "nasty" verse that deserve a GOAT over him. I'm serious pots up, enlighten me I want to see someone kill it like Kendrick did.
 
You're kind of missing my point. Nothing from this year deserves GOAT status, but I will enlighten you with some "nasty" verses from this year.

I typed this shit out twice already so I'm keeping it short.

Kendricks verse is (one of the) GOAT, not only because of the amazing lyricism, but because hes lighting fire under the game. He wants people to try to beat him lyrically. They can't call him on anything, not his life, his crews, or his cars and clothes, all they can do is try to outperform him lyrically. Nobodies going to get killed, but theres going to be a huge influx of crazy good songs trying to outdo that verse.

Im hoping for a Nas/Jay verse with a feature of a old Biggie verse. All three kings of NY on one song defending their title. That would be ridiculous, and exactly the reason why K DOT put out this verse.
 
I like his lyrics and his voice but I absolutely hate his flow in a lot of songs including this game changing verse.

did you listen to the song or read my comment? Have you seen the response so far? K DOT just lit fire under the game. So GOAT verse might have been a bit of an exaggeration, but GOAT thing to do? Yah kinda. He did a very different and great thing with those callouts, and doing that is making it a GOAT

I was exagerating , I'm just saying , I like kendrick but he is overated, his verse was ok , I mean calling it the greatest of all time just because he name dropped is kind of retarded.
