Holy shit you guys are good! I only recently started Kendama using my friend's but due to a broken right thumb i had to use my left hand. I can get around the world from any cup to any other cup and sometimes get ken flip, but i can't just cant get big cup, little cup, or base cup to spike.

Scratch that, thats not what its call. I meant the thing where you toss up the dama, bring the ken around it, and catch the dama back on the cup

I gave an inch there and you took a mile so to speak.

I do not see the purpose to it. Just as I am sure You would not find the purpose to the endless things that I do to occupy my time. You enjoy kendama. I enjoy reading about the effect the medicare expansion will have on state budgets come 2016. Is one better than the other? I think so. But I'm sure you could (almost?) equally argue the opposite viewpoint.

I'm sure your Japan trip was awesome. I have always wanted to visit there.

liked it on FBook might as well say this on here as well. Epic edit, I dont understand how any of this shit is possible?

Cool video,

but it doesnt skew my thoughts on kendama.

Why would you travel across the world to make a movie on a toy? This seems really dumb.

Is the kendama fad still cool? I had one like 4 years ago and played with it a little and realized it was a huge waste of time.

I guess thats just my two cents.

Whatever makes you happy!

Maybe cause they find it fun? Your posting on a ski website, why on gods earth does anyone ski? or really do anything?

dont usually care for kendama edits but that was kind of neat actually. better then just watching someone play is some ones basement. the tricks at 2:30 were pretty cool

don't understand why this thread is getting so much hate, that was sickmakes me want to try it for myself - I'm actually heading to japan in february so might as well pick one up while i'm there

I'm sure you guys had an awesome trip, and you are godly good at kendama. Good job.

Now to the people who don't like kendama or say its a waste of time. I believe getting good at anything (by that i mean gaining skills and/or knowledge) is something always rewarding. Wether it be skiing, kendama or basket weaving.

And i'm personnally nowhere near the level these guys are, and never will, but I always carry my kendama with me and play with it when waiting for the bus/plane/whatever. I've had one since i've seen up 1.2 and I have been playing it ever since.

Whats with all the hate?? These guys are really good at this and wether you think it's pointless or not, these people will still do what they do. There skills got them a really fun time in a foreign country. I don't understand why some of you feel the need to hate.

Some people seem too shallow to realize it's not all about playing the game in another country, but having the opportunity to travel, experience new places, and meet new friends. Kendama is just the means of doing so.

Because ns is full of douchebags who stroke their baby dicks while telling you how much better they are than you about pointless shit.

The guy up there who said that gaining skill at anything has it spot on. Whatever it is, you have something you want to get better at, and you feel good when you progress at it. Kendama is a means of doing that. It brings people together in a positive way.

Having said that, epic, epic edit. Absolutely unbelievable tricks. And Japan is beautiful.

Cause it's entertaining and there is always more to do. Once you master a trick there is just another one to start on so it passes alot of time

I just watched it for the first time. Just when I think I'm starting to get decent, I watch on of your guys' edits. You guys blow me away.

Sick edit!

im sorry but your kind of an asshole. ill take to defending kendama on this one. And just to give accredit myself to you ill let you know im in AP gov at my school and pretty damn good with it.quite simply, kendama is better because it requires patience and coordination and the payout is personal satisfaction. government has little payout all together and unless your going to be a politician you really shouldnt care about the one sided fuckers who cant compromise. your clearly a republican (joke)

Well played, Barto. No sense in trying to apologize only to try and be pithy about your "elevated" pursuits.

But that was an awesome edit guys! Looks like you had a blast on your trip.

lol AP gov, that means you are in HS. Can you even vote? How are you talking about how a wodden toy with a ball is more important than government? You are an idiot.

Not gonna lie guys, Kendama reminds me of the colonial American game of ball on a stick. With all of the technology out there it's easy to forget the simple things in life, such as Kendama. To each his own.

When you are an adult your priorities tend to change.

My earlier posts were boastful and preachy, which was not my original intent. My original intent was that while I don't enjoy this hobby, it's fine that you do. You'd probably think my hobbies were weird.
