Keeping your skis in shape.

What do you guys normally do for tuning? Usually I do a massive tune up like every other time I go skiing. Wax them several times to let the wax soak into the base, and sharpen the edges.

For wax, I do 2 coats of hydrocarbon, then 2 coats of low flouro wax.

Also, what bevel do you normally keep your edges at? Mine are at 3 right now, which is a bit much for park and such, normally they are at 1 or 2. But I didnt have the proper bevel guide.

i don't even do that much. i get a nice tune up at the beginning of the season. then wax them each day i go up. i'm not sure the kinds of wax, just temp specific stuff. toko makes this nice all-tempurature wax with molybdenum or something. black stuff. seems to work good enough.

this one kid i used to ski with was always sharpining his edges and so on and i game him shit for it all the time. then at a halfpipe comp he fell and landed on nhis edge. he had to get rushed to reno on ambulence to get 57 stitchs in his ass. nuff said

I get a tune at the start of the season. I wax them when I can be bothered, I dry them when I come off the hill so the edges don't rust and that's about it.

Oh sometimes I replace the stickers if they're getting beat up.

Tune at the start of the season. Use the rub on temp wax before each day. Get them hot waxed about every 20 ski days. Other than that I just dry them off.

Anyone have any tips on taking skis onto a plane. I was going to wrap them in a blanket or something, then put them into my ski bag. Don't want to take any chances.

how do i keep my skis in shape..

i have them run few miles before a nice scrumptious dinner of fried eggs and soy sause, then its straight to the gym.

lol toe

i ski every day on my lil mound of a ski resort, so that would be too much to wax every day...

i dont keep them in shape by maintence as much as i do being like EXTREMELY careful with everything i own (skis in this case)

i am so careful not to hit rocks, etc. but it still happens

oh god my skis last year, the bases of them got so fucked from these stones that were just under the surface coming off the main lift at our hill. Plus I skiied over a bare cart path in the spring, that wasn't too smart.

I'm gonna treat my news skis like baby's this year though.

you say that now...i garuntee after one day, the top will be all scratched to hell, and you'll have scratches in your bases
