Keeping your hood down when riding switch

For those of us that don't have magnets built in to our $500 Oakley jackets, having your hood fly up in your face sucks. I tried a safety pin, but it ripped out on a wreck. My plan right now

is to super glue magnets or small tabs of velcro on the back of the

hood and jacket.

What have you guys come up with to fix this?

i've never had a problem with orage masters hoods because they're all oversized. I can't see it being too hard to sew a magnet in though

ya thhis has happend to me and my friends a bunch, one thing that kinda works is turning your hood inside out, otherwise if you really get desperate just tuck your hood in, it'll prolly look gay but it might be worth it

haha i was gonna say that i never have a problem with my hood, until i realized that i have an oakley jacket....

turn your shoulders more when you ride switch. the same wind that flaps your hood up will flop it right back down.

if you have those elastic draw strings to tighten around your hood, you can pull those down so its pretty much closed, thats what i do an it works well and when its dumping you wont get snow in your hood or when you wreck

If you dont EVER use or intend to use your hood, you could go the permenant route. Jump on the sewing maching and lay in a stitch about a cm long back and fourth a couple times, sewing your hood tp your jacket... Although you wouldnt be able to sell it for much after that though.

I actually use my hood when I wear my jacket for non-skiing purposes. I walk to work, and it snows about five days a week in Buffalo.

Buy six small coin shaped magnets. Place three in the hood, and then stick them to the other three inside your jacket. Easy, removable, switch-hood protection.

I actually was on the JoAnn Fabrics website and saw them. Yeah, I know, I'm gay for going to the JoAnn Fabrics website, but piss off. How many times in your life do you get to use the phrase "JoAnn Fabrics website," the world's strangest oxymoron, three times in one paragraph?

keep a six pack of sam adams winter lager in your hood at all times. you can drink it on the lifts, and if your hood does eventually fly up when u finish the beers, hey, im kinda buzzed, fuck this hood.

have the same problem with my siver jacket. doesnt bother me when im looking over my left shoulder, but when i turn to look over my right its there and i cant see a thing

look online for some tiny rare-earth magnets or whatever. They are small, you can by like 20 at a time for 5 bucks and just pop 3 on the inside of teh jacket and 3 on the inside of the hood and BAM they are stuck together for good. ish.

yeah ive never had a problem having my hood come up with my jacket fully zipped or not.

i think i would try sewing some magnets on though underneath a little patch so you wont notice it

Ive never had that problem with my orage jacket, unlike my Siver. Heres why.

Most jackets have a cardboard insert in the hood, much like the beak of a baseball hat. I guess this weighs it down enough because its never happened with my Orage Conner, but its happened with my Siver Vulture shell(like a wind breaker- no beak thing)

whenever i do that it makes it a lot harder to see behind me the hood always ends up covering up an eye almost completely and theres no peripheral at all

the only time my hood flys up is when i land switch off a good sized jump but other than that riding switch it never comes up and i have a burton jacket

Yes, in fact so many jackets have cardboard in the hood that I have no idea what you are talking about.

i believe foursquare has the most jackets like this they have like a cardboard of plastic bill on the top of the hood...... thus resullting in a heavier hodd that stays down and a little cute bill when u put it up

I don't have problems with teh hood on my Bonfire coat blowing in my face, and I don't have magnets. Most coats have detachable hoods, so couldn't you just take it off for riding switch?

this hasn't really been a problem for me except for the other day...i was riding in to a jump, pop switch and look over my left shoulder and my hood is in the way..not too much of a problem...so i just take my right hand and move it over...but as i am doing this i go over a little ice chunk...catch an edge and fuck up my speed and can't hit the jump...i was so pissed i broke my pole..now i am thinkin off doin the magnet thing
