Keeping laptops running cool

i just bought a Compaq Presario V2000 w/ Turion processor and im wondering how i can get this puppy to run a little cooler or help it cool down because when i get going playing C&C Zero Hour or im ripping/watching DVDs, the bottom gets pretty damn warm Now i know they get warm but is there a way to help it not get to hot?

There are some sort of special coolers or that you can buy that you attach to the bottom of the laptop... otherwise all I can advise you to do is raise your laptop at an angle or create a little stand for it to allow the heat to dissipate faster...

create a stand so that the back of your laptop is raised so as the fans can circulate air more quickly and better.

one of my freinds had his lap top start on fire it's super old and it still works

I'd say dont' worry too much about it, because the developers know that it gets hot, but if you are, then prop it up. (I agree, should have got a centrino)

a cooling pad, or just set it on the desk with like a book under either side so the middle is raised so air can flow through it

put a cd case like under the corner (if its in the corner) where the fan is, it lets it suck in new air and dump out the shity warm stuff. or a cooling pad.

definatly buy a cooling pad or put ice underneath the laptop. i had the same problem wtih my centrino processor and after a while it would affect performance (not just during games, but when i would leave it on for days at a time it would affect normal browsing and shit)

 
my laptop has been known to burn my lap. as well, my adapter gets even hotter. so i'm glad this question got asked.

yeah i have the front now proped up with a little piece of foam and its running way cooler. i guess having it on my lap was cloging the fan holes.

and buy a centrino? hahahaha that just silly
