Hey guys I found this little documentary/ movie about drifting. They make some really cool parallels with action sports like skiing and snowboarding. and now with out any further adu... Keep it fun!

most drifters aren't sponsored, they are self-funded. and it takes a good bit of money to get a car sideways reliably. i.e. power from the motor (n/a, turbo, doesn't matter), solid rear-end w/ LSD, upgraded e-brake lines and such, mostly drivetrain and mechanical components.

this leaves no money for aesthetics, especially since its such a reckless sport and they are going to hit the wall eventually. so, they do whatever they can to keep the car looking decent and appear to be in one piece. they use zip-ties, bondo, fiberglass patches and resin, etc. to keep body components on.

so drifting at the sub-pro level= $$$$$$ on important things you can't see, no $$$$ on the things you can

i love drifting, i want a 240sx playtoy so damn bad
 
^not true. i have seen some well put together cars that don't look like total crap.

don't get confused with missile cars.
 
well, i was just kind of referring to the cars whose bumpers fell off in the video. but there are always exceptions you know.

i'm not saying all backyard drifters are pieces of shit, obviously there are people out there who have money to spend on their toy. me on the other hand, i'd be building one like i described. cause i'm def gonna be doing some body damage sooner or later.

nothing sounds better on the formulaD circuit than his s/c mustang. nothing.

 
The RX-8 is practically a full Racecar the only thing that is holding on that bumper cover is probably like 4 hood pin type things. so they rip off easier but at the same time are not causing damage like when those ratty 240's hit the wall and rip up their rear ends.
