KB gaper day

It saddens me that the KB season is too short to celebrate

the ever-growing festival that is the April 1st gaper day. Nothing would delight me more than riding in

jeans with a bunch of similar dressed individuals hitting jumps in trains,

skipping rails, snaking true gapers and screaming at the top of my lungs… I really want KB to have a gaper day this

year (some wise-asses would say that everyday at kb is a gaper day, btw) yet

April 1st is not an option. Late

season sunny days are good for shooting videos, and late season cloudy days are

good for learning tricks, that is why I was thinking some weekend in Feb would

be good, (I’m hoping for Saturday the 2nd, Groundhog Day). Hopefully it won’t be too cold for jeans, but

that way on a weekend there can be more participants, KB will have crowds, and

there will plenty of tiny, frozen features in the park. So if you are into this nonsense reply to

this thread and find your old Starter jacket (or Logo7 if your parents were

cheep-asses), bust out those jeans, don that Boeri gumball helmet, dust of those snowlerblades (you know you have them) , leave your

gogs and poles at home (unless of course you have real long rental or xc poles

which in that case bring em’) practice those daffys, and forget how to do 360

because GAYPER DAY 08 is commin’ sukka !!!

for those that are clueless, here in an example

i am down...gives me an oppurtunity to rock the 80's one piece i bought..yesss. let me know when 2/2 is fine for me too

lol, did somebody post this on craigslist?

I'm looking for a men's retro ski or snowboard one-piece suit... must have NEON! The more the better.

Needs to be a medium or a large for a slim 6' guy. Looking for fashion not function.

Willing to pay reasonable price for product though it's more of a novelty than anything.

well i would suggest the day when kb has that mardi gras celebration because that ususally draws a large crowd...

In. I have a pair of 200cm straight skis I can pull out and mount up for this momentous occassion.

im liking the mardi gras. also, itll probably be pretty warm so those wearing jeans wont die from the cold.

i believe mardi gras is on feb 5th this year. so would that mean that kb would celebrate it on the weekend of the 9th?

i guess, but i always remember it being really warm cause i always ski in a sweatshirt on their mardi gras day

Soooo, I'll be there, and we can have some fun rocking neon along with all the other people there for the day.

I'll be rocking probably tight pants and a fleece coat, ready to be a gaper for a day. Then I'll chill with Schuss in the afterparty. lol.

I guess sat the 2nd works for most ppl, but i know that i have to work from 12-5 on sat. Regardless of what people do on sat i think ill still dress like a goofball on superbowl sunday

Just so everyone understands. The Last Chair Party is an hour long event. The chair will load those with RB tickets and KB tickets only after patrol sweep at 10:00, this will be around 10:30, placing the last chair for the Last Chair party to the top around 11:00. at midnight the chariot turns to a pumpkin and everyone will need to go down to the base via the predetermne route lead and followed by Patrol. No lurking in the parking lot, the Lake Effect will be open for after hours and I am sure a few priovate parties will arranged at folks homes nearby. This is a liability heavy event and should be very cool if we all play by the rules. If it blows up in our face it will close doors for other events of this ilk in the future. Get your tix early, they are limited and you will not get in w/o one. I'll see you up there.

See you all tomorrow for Gaper Day! I wont be there for the afterparty, but neither will any of you i guess, so yup, see ya.

im so sad, due to work my schedule i cant go, but im going to dress like a goofball on supersunday

i hope that another day in the near future will work out better, i had to work both sat and sun afternoons this week, (which probably wont happen again.) Kenton went to KB on sun, but he did not see anyone.

Sidenote, Ian, I heard you cleaned up at the HV slopstyle.

yeah, it was the ussa slopstyle. they had it set up on foxfire. the comp itself was on the top rails and the two jumps after those. overall the course was pretty nice, but we didnt get to use the bottom features cause the judges couldnt see them. and by the way, i did clean up. there were two comps and i got first in my age group and overall in both of them. =)

props to mitch for getting hurt. get well soon man,

poor mitch caught an edge on a rail and was thrown onto his back, hitting some ice steps. He suffered an acromioclavicular joint separation, (something painful in the back/shoulder area)

i dont know what type he has, most likely the least severe, he has no problems eating and playing video games, also sleeping is not too bad if he is laying down correctly. He will be skiing in a couple of weeks, but he will be taking it easy.
