i usually could care less about what girls do in skiing,

the same as i love watching zidane and ronaldinho but dont give a shit about mia hamm

but i just saw kaya turski do switch 7s and 9s in the mind the gap orage masters bonus

she is 10 times better than any other girl out there, so why is it always sarah burke and kristi leskinin who get all the publicity, cause they both suck ass compared to kaya

 
man, thats kinda rude to say you dont care about the girls in our sport.

but anyways. you're right. Kaya slays harder than any female skier EVER.
 
yeah, you need to grow up.

sarah and kristi get the credit because they have been involved since pretty much the beginning of twin tips.

pull your head out of your ass. just because shes a 'chick' doesnt mean that she has to live up to higher standards, or lower standards for that matter.

OK, Kaya is definitely awesome at what she does, but at this point she is still pretty one dimensional when compared to someone like Sarah

Sarah can spin off cliffs in the backcountry, has done some pretty nasty urban rails, and can boost the hell out of the pipe (also do the best 900s that any girl has ever done in pipe). She also can ski moguls pretty well, is a great coach, ambassador for the sport, etc. etc.

So to say that she "sucks ass" compared to Kaya is pretty damn rude and uninformed.

Yeah, Kaya's switch spins on park jumps are better than Sarah's, but that is not the only thing that skiing is about. Her halfpipe and overall ski skills are not at Sarah's level yet, that's for sure.

Also, for someone who just hit the scene, I would say that Kaya's doing pretty well in terms of media attention, sponsors, etc. and I'm sure that things for her are just going to keep getting better.

Did you really need to trash on Sarah and Kristi in order to give Kaya props for what she is doing?
 
ive been feelin the same way about michelle parker. watch ski porn and try to tell me that parker doesnt hit jumps twice the size as those beginner park 30 footers that leskinen and burke hit.
 
we need an update on how Kaya is doing. havent heard anything since she posted the update on the salomon team. how is she healing, how much physical therepy is she gonna need, how long till she is back to skiing? i always feel bad when others get hurt and the fact that her injury was so public keeps it at the front of my mind.
 
Last thing she told me was that it's not sure when she'll be able to ski again.

If you read the first updates, the doctors said she would be able to ski in January again. The latest updates are however that she may miss the full season, if I understood it right...

My personal opinion is that she'll be on skis sooner then she can walk, Kaya's mind is made of steel.

Well I talked to her good friend kim lamarre this week-end at the rails 2 riches and it seems that if all goes well she might be skiing in march, so her season is very ifie. As for kim she won the event yesterday.

Anyway may we wish kaya a good and swift recouvery.

well they kinda have to be held to diff, standards casue in like say xgames or any comp. if they combined the girls/boys a boy would win everytime. same with like big mtn skiing

but props to all girl rippers out there
 
Sarah Burke and Kristi have tits, and show them in Oakley adds and FHM, thats why they get more recognition. What company would market a girl skier when they can market a sex-symbol.
 
thats why philou got so popular, sure he could do sick nines in the pipe back in the day. We all know he was just a sex symbol. that manly piece of lumberjack
 
umm, sarah hits all the things most other people do, i mean she did the open big air for a couple years till they made a womens event.
 
i saw kayas name in an old woodward advertisment for pro inline skaters who went to woodward.
 
Im not gona go out and say flat out no, but I saw film of kaya doing switch 7 into switch ten, she lost a ski, but all ive seen sarah doing is pretty lame looking 7's.....

 
umm, no, she can do up to switch 9. and she's the only girl doing consistent 9s in pipe, not to mention she slays the rest of the mountain. since kaya is new to the sport she's really only shown us stuff in the park. i mean watch sarahs seg in yearbook (which she has progressed since) and she's doing switch 5s and 7s and urban.
 
I don't care about the girls in our sport.

Kaya is a good jumper. Sarah and Grete are still better skiers than she is.
 
Kaya is def stepping it up for skiers everywhere-she had one of the best photos of a female skier I have ever seen in Freeskier this year-sw 7 sequence-superstylish and ill. She deserves credit. For sure.
