Kartel 96 Mounting Point

I just copped a pair of 176 cm Kartel 96s and am trying to decide where to mount them.

I've looked online and used the search bar for newschoolers. Most of what I found recommends the recommended line or +2 cm from the line.

I just want to know where the recommended line is in relation to true center.

If anyone has any suggestions on where to mount them, here is some info bout me.

5 foot 8 inches. 135-140 lbs. (been tryna gain weight for a while. still strugglin...)

Looking to use 70% in the park and 30% all mountain. Ski mainly east coast, but I will take these skis out west 2-3 times a year.

Mounting with Look Pivot 15s.

But again, someone please tell me where the recommended line is in relation to true center.

Longest measuring tool I own is a 12 inch ruler, but yes. Not tryna spend money on measuring tape tho.

place skis next to each other, (one's tip is near the tail of other ski like this - ). Measure the distance between recommended lines. Divide it by 2. result is going to be distance from true center.

K108 is around -3 from centre. K96 would be similar I imagine.

I wouldn’t go forward of that unless you really plan on getting tech on rails and don’t mind sacrificing turns elsewhere. It comes up pretty often with ON3P that they’re really gonna ski best on the line.

-3 is a good spot for both park and riding over the hill and I have yet to feel like I’m either too far back or too far forward in any conditions on my K108s, which are mounted on the line.

Did not think of this thank you.

Reccomended is -4.5 cm from true center

Can't wait for the follow up post about how the shop fucked up his mount. Seriously dude. Just mount them on the recommended line.

If you want the recommended line, it's on the side of the ski.

OP should really invest in a tape measure, they're very useful tools for all sorts of measuring tasks, in this case measuring and CLEARLY marking the skis he wants mounted.

ride the recommended, they're a much less symmetrical ski than the magnus and will ski better at core center
