Karmas or SPK

im looking into either this or last years karmas or spks, karmas will be about 500 bucks for 07 and spks at 550, last years karmas i havnt researched prices

whats the best choice??

is this a joke? if not they are completely different skis dude, if you are an all mountain skier who wants a stiff ski that goes in the park every now and then go karmas. If you ski 90% or more park get the spks.

thats what im thinking cause i want the karmas but the spks are great in park/pipe so im not sure i think i might go karmas though

karmas will handle everything no prob dude, theyll prolly kill in the park too, but the spk's wont do as well as the karmas outside the park

the only thing the spks won't do well on is crud and powder. If you ski in the east coast go for the spks if your in the west and get a bunch of snow get the karmas. the spks kill in the park and pipe and basically any hard snow but the karmas are pretty solid everywhere

the karmas dive in deep powder...so if u are outwest go seth for sure.

but for 500$$ for this years karmas is an insane(as in good) price. depending on what you ski i would get those for sure.

I was in the same boat so I'll give you a detailed brain dump..

I had CR Lab's the last two seasons but I needed to replace this year cuz they were beat to shit from moguls and park at Killy. I was originally just going to get another pair of CR's or SPKs. They (CR) are a really fast ski and once you get used to the mounting, they carve really well and tear up trees and bumps. However, I went with Karmas to replace them. Not really because I think they were that much better, but because I wanted to try something new and I heard the Karma's are a better all mountain ski. I'm also a bigger (6-1, 200) and even though the CR's held up exceptionally well, I wanted more of a landing platform in the park and in general.

If you really are more focused on park, get a pair of CR's or Candide's on evogear for 399. They are a much better ski than the SPK and a lot cheaper. They are stiffer and have the best base of any twin out there. The one warning I have about the CR's/SPKs is that they suck in powder. I did a cliff drop under Harmony chair at Whistler in 05, the tips immediately dove, and I tomahocked all the way down the mountain to the amusement of all on lift.

naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.... I bought the karmas for our western trips last year. I was stoked to get them so tried them here in the east. I was impressed, I kept going back to them.

Well....... I sold 3 pairs of my "other" skis at swaps this fall, The karma does everything well for me. High speed, crud, powder, ice, (i keep a race tune on them) park... well, I will defer to others.

You mean you will defers to others for their opinions..? Or to other skis for the park because you don't like Karmas in the park?
