Ok, so I've had this idea lately and I really think it could work to distribute and receive new music. Alright so basically my idea is a "karma" system of music distribution, in that you have to participate in order to reap the benefits and make this work (you do good, and good will come I guess?). So basically we will have a group of members, and each member will burn there entire Library of tunes onto a or multiple DVD's. Now we will all post our address and wants ect and these discs will circulate around to everyone. Basically you will receive a or many dvd's insert them into your computer and drag all the music you want and once done, check the cult and find someone else to send them to. If we have say even 20 members, and each member has say only 5 gigs of music, that is 95 potential gb's of free music! I just think this would be a great thing to experience all new types of music as everyone has different tastes. Note I have not started a cult yet, but let me know if you guys are interested and I will make one!

Please, only inquire if you are willing to participate and be a part of the system.

I want to keep this small and a tight community.

And as of right now, I am thinking the minimum amount of music on your hd in order to join should be 3 gigabytes.
 
It has potential but everyone is lazy. I think an easier option would be to zip your whole music library then use a torrent to share it. Faster, costs less and it won't be a federal offense if you get caught (using mail to share music illegally).
 
I would be down. This idea sounds awesome but I think it needs some work like stated before. Members should host there music on mediafire or something like that so everyone can get it. just an idea but i want in.
 
Excelent idea, but a torrent is too slow...imagine downloading 5 gigs from a single user, it would take a long fucking while, plus with all the download/upload limits from your ISP...

I'd say the DVD is a better option...but again, if its illegal, i dont really know..
 
isnt music theifs just the same thing, everyone uploads albums onto mediafire/megaupload etc. and everyone downloads or requests new stuff they want
 
No what i mean is the hassle of downloading a huge file, and the time required, will be way more than receiving a dvd in the mail, putting it in, and importing directly the files you want.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not against torrents. Just that for this kind of idea, a music dvd in the mail seems like something more enjoyable.
 
yeah it will be slow at first...but chances are your not gonna be the first person downloading it anyway.

and once youve downloaded even a little of it your already sharing it with other people
 
I hear you guys on torrents, but this is going to be a small group and we wont have enough seeders to make anything work. Dvd's are the way to go. Please dont worry about sending a dvd in the mail hahahha how paranoid are some of you? And some of you said people are too lazy. Yes, the majority of people are indeed, however this is not for the majority. I want this to be a small, tight group of people who love music and will be more than happy to participate. This can definitely work.
 
ya I'd definietly be down, I have like 15 gigs of tunes so I feel like that would be a few discs but I would love to get some new stuff.
