because a metal detector would just tell them something was in the wood, not where. thye would need to x-ray it anyways to find it to see if they could remove it, or use any part of the wood

they are quite stiff and my bindings broke in the begining of the season so i didn't get to ski them much, but yah they are a good ski from what i got to ride. wicked stiff though. tough to swich between them and the TM's
