yah there is freedom of speech, but when you do it by your own means. He was on a network television station, and they don't really want him saying that stuff on their show.

As for the whole not being a good speaker, it's because that was off the top of his head(obviously not scipted) and was scrambling for words and just about to drop a bomb on everyone.

Red Cross said half of the calls they recieved that day were complaints about his comments rather than donations for the relief fund. There is a time and a place and that was not it. Pretty ignorant comment, I mean did anything positive come from it? Besides exposer for Kanye?

^ Ya Bush isn't the only one in charge, but he appointed the head of FEMA, who has no experience in how to handle emergencies. He's just an old friend of Bush.

As to Bush neglecting the problem of the people who are starving, his main priority is to rebuild the senator of mississippi's house. I'd say that shows a lot of concern about everyone else.

and even though there were fuck ups everywhere, it is the states responsibility for first response. and when people that depend on public transportation can't get out and they shove them all into the superdome with no food and water, that's not the governments fault that that happened. it's even in the state disaster plan that people that can't get themselves out are to be taken out in school or city buses.

I agree on the time and place thing. The whole concert was about people coming together to help the victims and thier families, not to share your negative political views. I am glad that we can share our opinions and stuff, but the fact that he did that at a charity concert was pretty lame. Negativity was not what the whole concert was supposed to create.

i hope u know that bush has done over 5 reports on the hurricane... and has visited it 3 times already.....did u know that? i don't think so... and jsut casue teh news says it took 6 days to send in relief doesn't mean thats true... ony of my moms friends who is a coastguard off the coast of miami was sent in the day after the huricane hit....soo don't go rambaling off about stuff that u think is true... check it out first....

 
I have to respect Kanye for having the guts to say something like that on network tv, but whether he was nervous or not, it's hard to keep your credibility in a situation like that when you can't even get through a sentence without having to stop and restart.

And I fucking cracked up when he said "George Bush doesn't care about black people." Mike Meyer's face was priceless. And then they had to cut to Chris Tucker who pretty spoke worse than Kanye did.

i dont understand why it would take so long to respond though... like honestly, so it's covered in water, get the helis in dropping aid.. food and such. they have helicopters sitting around, they have the care packages, and they have the pilots... give a phone call and say "go". who cares about paperwork. people are dying. theres rotting bodies everywhere. get in the damn helis and drop shit. not so difficult.

Over 5 reports? Photo ops? I'm sure the starving and homeless people in New Orleans are impressed with George's effort. As for aid not being sent in for days, its a fact that thousands of people were stuck in the superdome without food, water, electricty or police protection. Reporters were there the entire time to document it.

On a lighter note my favourite part was seeing Chris Tucker scrambling to say somthing. "Send water, and uh, trucks. Please please please. Help help help."
