Kangaroo flips: not spin to win?

do u think this trick will bridge the gap between spin to win contests and just throwin inverted stuff? if so, a whole new generation of comps will arise which will mean for inverted spins and flips which i think is sicker then spin2win. xgames slpstyle had a lotta rodeos and lincoln loops and crap jw whatu think....

i think the kangaroo flip is dope, but watchin jon and jacob throw it last hit on every run just got repetitive, kinda like simon in the pipe its sick, but its pretty much the same shit everytime, and yeah i hope slopestyles go that way, vanulars rodeo 9s from LSS were so sick

yea but its better then seein the same ol switch 9 mute or switch 10 tail. unless everyone could throw 12s it gets a lil boring. a medium would be best

true, its like at creek when all the boarders did super low tail presses and at first it was like cool, and now its like gay

yea i hope they replay the skiing superpipe and slopestyle again this week or somehting... i was skiing while both of them were on.... i heard it was sick tho

well it seems that skiers are no longer allowed to do inverted tricks or spins. so that leaves...straight air...and spread eagles. wow we just can't be satisfied with a good show

I want to see more under/over flips... dspins... I think the only way to stop spin to win is for all the skiers to decide just not to throw switch 10s... if at the beginning of the comp all the guys competeing stay they wont throw one... then the comps would be more interesting because they would all have to dig deeper in their bag of tricks.... it will never happen... but it would be cool

My god, you kids will always find something to bitch about. Look, its known as progression. People learn new, harder tricks, and then do them because they know that they can win competitions ($$$$) with them. Then, once everyone does the same thing, another person steps it up, learns a new trick, and starts winning comps. You guys seem to forget that skiing is a business, and the riders are the face of that business. Its not about what kids on newschoolers think is cool, its about what is going to win them money, and promote their sponsors. Pure and simple. Therefore, there will always be a cab 10, Kangaroo flip, or switch rodeo 7. (remember when that was the trick that won everything?) Luckily there are guys like Pep and Pollard who are pushing the style side of the sport. So, if your pissed about never ending cab tens and kanga flips, go watch Pep and Pollard ski, but still have respect for these guys throwing crazy, progressive tricks. That is all.

I think saftey grabs are gonna take out spin to win. Like on Jon's first run in the x games he should of got like a 96 just for that straight air. So saftey grabs and straight airs are where it's at.

Wow people can't just be happy to see what the best are doing it seems. I agree with Xgames big air last year was boring, 13 switch 10s out of 26 jumpers. But people are bored with skiing itself it seems. People can't come out with 3 new tricks at every competition just to keep you entertained

I agree, but another thing I see happening with the progression of flips/spins is that our comps have started to look like aerials.

Pollard, Mahre and Fujas are the people to watch for the real progression of our sport.

fuck spinning like a top, any motherfucker who is decent at skiing can huck himself into a crazy spin and probably land it

It actually takes skill to do a double flip

rodeo and flat are more or less the same thing, cept on a flatspin you twitch your head a little so you dont go upside down.

but yeah they have less limits than corks

its easier to do double flat than doub cork

this guy has got it down. in a comp, obviosly a sick 7 is gonna beat a wack ass 9. but cab 10's are tough and the trick to do. if you wanna win a contest and that trick can get that done why wouldn't you throw it. but it is also sick to watch a video segment or just some kid roll through park killing it with sick cork 3's and 5's. both aspects are really cool. its a little extreme, but you have big mountain and park. then you have spin to win and style. similar debates.

also, doubles are fuckin balsy. some of them are sick and have the best of both worlds. smooth and grabbed but also super tech. others are ugly, but balsy none the less. if your just gonna hate on kids that have shear talent and convidance and can do doubles like its their job and gab tail all the way through a 10 stop competing an dtrying to win stuff, or learn it your self.

people have already started doing like forward kangaroo flip things havent they? like what jacob wester did a few times in the joi and what a few guys were throwing down then

konagaroo flips, when thrown forward, are more like double flatspins (Flat 3 to flat 5), whereas when they are thrown more straight up and down, and more like doub rodeo 9s (rod 3-rod 5)
