Are they Pistols with diff. graphics, or is the flex diff.

better to burn out...

...then fade away

they are tely skis as in telamark skis. but i was wnderin can telamark skis be mounted with normal bindings? (and ski like a normal ski) just wnderin cuz these skis are the same as the pistols but much cheaper.

dont get it twisted

you can turn regular skis into telemark so you can probably just put regular bindings on these and theyd be fine

'Why don't you guys make like siamese twins and split, then one of you dies'Peter Griffin

there is a big difference in weight and flex points isn't there?

well the description says they are pretty stiff so compare that to the pistols and iof you need a cheap good twin buy some PE's or fujatives and let the tele guys have their skis

the magazine is called 'POWDER' cool! - my stupid non-skiing friend

Yes and no about puttin alpine bindngs on a tele ski like this and expecting it to react like the pistol. I mean, more then likely it would work fine, but there are differances between the two skis. But look at it this way, Fischer last season had a tele line and a alpine line of the Big Stix's. Exactly the same ski except for the graphic. Same ski, yet price differance of almost 200 dollars. This year, the tele ski is same same as the alpine ski, exactly the same. Now you ask, why would a ski that is exactly the same except for graphic cost a differant amount?

Well, its all about the old supply and demand, and who the company is marketing to. Telemarkers make up a very little percentage of us, and there for its a small market. Also, the tele crew is really not the rich folk from jersey that comes up on the weekends, there usally the bums that hang around the resort, doing odd jobs so they can ski on the powder days.

So yes and no, some tele skis are same same as there alpine brothers, but some differ drasticly.

Dayum! Now I have an excuse to switch to K2: Piste Pipes for the East and Hippie Stinx for the West. Now all I have to do is scrounge up the money while still paying my college tution (thank God for loans, lol).

i like those better than the pistols and if they're stiffer that's great! i would have no problem putting a normal binding on those

Seize the carp

i think i will buy them and put s912

dark helmet : if there is one thing i despise it's a fair fight

if i am not mistaken, K2 pre-drills their tele-skis for tele-bindings. thus fucking over your idea of putting regular bindings on them.

also, i would imagine the skis themselves are a bit different because they are designed to be mounted with different bindings.

I feel bad for people who don't drink, cause when they wake up in the morning, thats the best the're going to feel all day

You can still mount other bindings on all of K2s teleskis. The inserts use the Black Diamond/G3 pattern, which is not shared by all tele companies (Voile, Karhu, and Bomber use different patterns). Line skis have inserts, yet that doesn't stop people from mounting other bindings on the ski. New holes won't damage the ski's integrity and the inserts (like on a snowboard) are watertight anyway.

The difference between the line and k2 inserts is that the line inserts are located in the center of the binding location and will not affect other bindings. K2 inserts are located on the toe (its a 4 hole tele pattern) and may require you to mount the binding either further forward or back than you would want to.

if tele boarders learn switch tricks we will look like fools. Everything will be possible on snow when this happens, i can feel it coming. I grovel in the shadow of tele skiers

Um... telemark and alpine skis are usually the same damn thing, with few exceptions. Also, the Hippie Stinx are simply the Seth Pistols with a slightly softer flex and a BD/G3 insert pattern.
