man...haha...this is funny. youre trying to tell a k2 rider, and a k2 riders son that they dont make race skis anymore. when, infact they do. go to mt hood, peep the K2 test center. notice that all the skis except for 1 pair are RACE skis. but i guess since my name doesnt have k2 and skier in it, i must not know shit about k2, or skiing in general

i never said they didnt make race skis...they're department in the K2 factory that handles their racing affairs was downsized..im really happy for you and you're dad that both ride K2's but take it from someone who lost their job with like 30 other people

im just tellin you what i heard man..this guy is unemployed because they downsized...that's all i know...i was told they got rid of their race division in the company but i never said they didnt make racing skis still...this guy and his buddies lost their job because apparently they downsized

well back to free skiing now. i looking at getting some new k2 this season either the PE's or Pollards depending on price. i can say this k2 is being really smart about keeping the price at 300 or lower because that is what sold me

User every one thinkin of getting new skis this year should check out k2's sick new skis. On top of last years new public enemys and seth pistols, k2 is introducing 3 new skis this year. They will be the juvenile. which is a junior park ski with a foam core which makes it more flexible for the younger generation. the fugitive, which is in between the Public Enemy and the Seth pistol. It has a triaxal braided core which makes it extremely easy to ride switch. Pep, Turpin and some other members of the k2 ski team or riding the prototypes of the fugitives right now at High North. And lastly will be the maden, which is a ginormous ski, bigger than the seth pistol. made for major big mountain skiing.

User My guess is that Gutt is not answering because he cannot. He is almost certainly under non-disclosure with K2. If he comes in here denying it, and then K2 releases them he looks like a liar. If he spills the beans he gets canned from what is a pretty sweet job. So it is better for him to say nothing at all. I'm sure there is some truth to your rumour.

Admin OK, OK, stop all this about why I did not answer sooner. I have been down at Mt. Hood for the last week, not ignoring the message boards.

For the millionth time, this year we will have the existing Public Enemy and Seth Pistol along with a super wide ski, the Kahuna. That is our line for 2003/04.

We are working on stuff for the future, but nothing has been finalized. Yes we are working on a youth ski and a park specific ski, but nothing is set in stone. I could all change today for all I know.

God, these posts are hillarious sometimes..I wonder where this info. comes from...Sorry Andy, that kid has his head up his ass. K2 absolutley still makes race skis, and they still make them on the island, Your dad is still involved and we love it. K2 did reorganized a few months back and about 40 people were moved or downsized, the company had to do it to opperate better and they do now.

Concerning the skis, and graphics: the PE and SP get new graphics in 04, the Maiden is the Kahuna. The Fujative will hopefully be released mid-season 04... See the K2 factoryteam message boards for further info...

 
first of all i would like to say that i used to race. that is where i devloped my skiing background. secondly, m1garand is an upset little kid who wishes he had a racing background. the best skiers in the world have racing backgrounds. racing teaches you the fundamentals of skiing, somthing most little park rats like yourself lack. any racer could outski you outside the park anyday, hands down. i was about to say the only reason newschool is not being dominated by racers is because racers havent tried the sport, but then i realised that Jon Olsson is an ex-racer who was at the top of his game in racing and now is top of newschool skiing. our sport wouldnt even exist without the money racing brings into the ski industury. simply put, m1garand, you are a fucking no skilled tool and racing keeps skiing alive. weather you like it or not.
