K2 Ski lengths

I've heard that the K2 sizing system is a little different (longer) than other brands, so is there 174 more like a rossi, or armada 176... or not?

you heard wrong. they measure the tip-to-tail length and that's their size- 179 is actually 179 cm long. some people say they measure the running edge length, but that's not accurate. measure them and you'll find out. every other ski company measures the same way- it's a "standard" much like the DIN system is a "standard".

call it standard, but k2's are longer than other brands. i work in a shop and stare at skis all day, and the 179 public enemy is the same length as the 181 teneighty. so there you go, they are a bit longer than other brands.

It's so funny there is a small difference but you here guys on here all the time saying their Seth Pistols are a foot longer than "your ski goes here"

You want to know WHY they are longer? So they'll compete stability whise with other brands whose skis aren't so soft.

rossignol does the measuments before the tail get turned up. so my i76 are more like 172 or something...
