hey guys, i'm just getting into the park, was looking at a pair of these as a first twin tip. i'm 6 ft and weigh about 185 lb, would i be too heavy for the 179s?

cheers.

there are better skis out there if you can get last years or spend an extra $100. Check out last yrs salomon dumont in a 181 or an armada ar6 or line chronic. 179 being too short depends on where youre mounting them really, 170-182 should be fine in terms of length.

thanks eddie, the line chronics seem like an alright choice. what bindings would you recommend? the ones i were looking at before were 85mm.

the chronic is such a sick ski, rips all over the mountain quite stiff in terms of flex. Solid for jumps and rails but will still carve very well, it feels super balanced in the air too..

the model of binding I would recommend would be a Salomon STH 12, marker griffon or rossignol scratch 120.

I'm over 6ft. and about 185 and I ski the 179. It is good snappy ski and sick for the price. I used Fujatives for a while, but enjoy a stiffer tail. We made it so you can get performance without breaking the bank. Skiing is expensive. Skis you destroy shouldn't be. Matt Margetts was using those for park all year and Frank Raymond rocks those on urban shit he slays.
See them in action in Jib Jam and Journal.

i got silencers midwinter in the 0506 season and they are still in working condition for urban skis now. so cheap and durable... and dont listen to people tell you they are too soft im 6'3 220 and i was hitting 60-80s on them all the time and they are dope, just so reliable. (although the bases are too beat up for on mountain stuff anymore haha) but i havent lost any pieces of my edges and theyve been through hell, so sturdy.

The Silencers are a great park ski. I rode these for two and a half years and they held up better than any other ski i've had. They are super light and poppy, and for the price you can't beat them.
