I had some Public Enemies, I think they are too stiff and too heavy for me in the park. Are the Silencers just more of the same, or are they a good park ski?

dude to be honest with you the k2 silencers are not really a good aggressive park ski, they are pretty much just like a beginner ski. i had to use them when my skis broke and they worked alright but were a pain in the ass. bottom line just go with some other ski or maybe even a different brand if you dont like k2, cuz trust me the silencers are not that good of a ski.

well i guess it depends but i have heard from a lot of people that they are not that great, plus i used them and they werent that great, but ya i guess it pretty much just depends on if you like them or not. plus josh bryant from jibij is not selling the silencers at jibij any more cuz he hates them so much so and they dont sell well so i dont really know what to tell you

I believe the silencers are a capped version of the old public enemy. They are a price point ski. Most people seem to like them. They are cheap and a pretty good ski.

I have but their really not a great ski by any means, i just got them because i wanted a cheap ski for the park that wasn't too floppy as im 6'3 and 175 lbs. If your purely a park skier invest in a better ski, but if you only ski some park like i do and dont want to spend alota money on some park skis they'll do fine.

yeah, the Silencer is a price point ski.. not a bad ski, but I wouldn't recommend it to an aggressive skier..

Being somebody that has actually skied both skis in a variety of conditions, I will tell you that the Silencer is actually pretty snappy as it is a full wood core old dimension PE with a cap topsheet. Cap construction softens a ski very slightly compared to a sidewall version. I used Silencers as park skis all this past year and I really liked them. I also really enjoyed them in the pipe. however, when the snow got thicker and warmer, the PE performs better. It busts through crud and slop easier than the Silencer does, these conditions are where you feel the difference in the ski. The Silencer is also a bit narrower underfoot at 80mm versus he PE's 85mm. Hope that helps.

if your just riding park u gotta get the invader. but if you are stuck on k2 like i used to be, you should hold out and take a look at the new "kung fujas" symmetrical ski so great for switch riding like the lines are but still k2 if u wanna be loyal to the brand.
but the line invader changed me as a skier, i went from the K2 PE to the line invader mid season and i found myself playing on every change in terrain getting all buttery and what not.the ollie power is ridiculous too . The invader makes it so easy to get up on urban set up. Its not bullshit when people say that the invader and the anthem are the best ski for progression in the park.

schmies pretty much covered it as far as differences between the two. one thing to add though, if you're on the west coast, you're probably better off with the PE since it is a little wider and will be inherently better in softer snow. if you're stuck on the east like me, the silencer might be a better option. its a little bit lighter than the PE and the narrow waist will make it quicker edge to edge on our firm snow. i've skied invaders for a season before i got on k2s and my skiing improved drastically when i got on a real ski. the invaders are fun for jibs, but the k2s can actually ski outside the park, and take a beating much better than my invaders did. hope that helps.

no i agree the invaders cant really take a beating, ill probably end up getting another pair next season some time, but they are cheap. i also agree that they arent to great outside of the park, but that is why we should all invest in a quiver to have the best ski in each environment.
to tell u the truth though, i ski in Washington and ive been riding my invaders at alpental in this spring snow the past 3 or 4 weeks and its so much fun gapping moguls and bouncing off shit with the buttery goodness. i could have rode my public enemies but they just seem so plain and boring to me now. Just my opinion.

i hate fujis, if i was to get a K2 ski for park, it would probably be silencers (i'd have to see more about the flex of the disorderly), cause they're a stiffer ski, and poppier than the damp PE. IMO it's the best price point ski i've seen, though i haven't tried armadas new cap skis.
