Ok so I've been looking at both last years Seths and this years seths and the only difference between last years seths and this years seths is that the newest seths claim to have a "mini rocker". I thought this was a sick feature on the ski so i went on tramdock to look at a photo of the camber. I look at the camber shot, and really there was no reverse camber whatsoever, if anything it appeared to be regular camber. This years seth alone is $629 but i have found last years ski in a package with bindings, poles and goggles for that price. Is it really worth the extra money for this "mini rocker" or should i just go with last years package?

Also, is there really a "mini rocker" or is it just a bunch of bullshit?

when held lightly this years seths appear to have normal camber, but when pressed together like if you step into them you can see the rocker. not a huge deal but pretty cool. you should probably go with last years if yopu need all that other stuff.
 
the rocker is noticeable, and the 08 Seths are quite a bit softer. They're a better powder ski, but a worse crud/variable conditions/groomers/everything else ski. I would love the 07 Seths with the 08 rocker, but that's neither here nor there...
 
I checked them out at the store the other day... you can defineitely tell that they are rockered. Don't seem too soft to me... felt stiff enough for all mountain hold/hard pack. Regardless, if Seth is willing to ski them in some of the shit he does, I wouldn't be worried about there stiffness... however, this years model is geared slightly more for POW. I would go with last year and the package you got... can't go wrong with that deal...there is little difference b/w the two.
 
I skied the 08 Seths for the entire Australian winter this year (we get them before the northern hemisphere). Anyway, the mini rocker is definately noticible in pow and crud, and I think it's a welcome addition to the ski. As for the stiffness/hard snow performance, I skied these as my only pair on a number of bulletproof days and, despite flapping a bit at high speeds (which apparantly every model does), they were top notch. I'd recommend the '08 model very highly on the basis of having them as my 'one quiver' ski for the whole winter.
 
i have the 07 seths and i love them. A way fun ski for all mountain and they wer actually really good in the park i liked them better than my invaders
