K2 SETH MOUNT

Yep kno that this thread was made last year but it didnt really even have to do with the features that i ski..I would only use this ski for pow unless i felt like taking a fun in the park for fun but want it mounted specifically for pow. On this website it says this as far as mounting...

"Mid Sole"-NO PARK

+2 80%all mountain/20 park

+3 all mountain

+5 60%park /40 mountian

So since I want this ski for mostly pow should i mount at like +1?

i ski mine at +4, no park on them just pow and love it. i heard somewhere that seth himself rides his at +6 or +7. i like having a little bit more tail when i launch of stuff.

Most people were saying +5 for the other kid but then again that was his only pair of skis and he rode pow/park with em.

True centre is +12.5, 5 forward of core centre. Go between +5 and +7 for all round/no park.

Don't go +5 from true center lol. They are talking about +5 from recommended. Don't make that slip with the tech haha.

o yeh talked to a guy today that could mount some bindings on and he recommended Tyrolia Free Flet 14 which ive never heard of but says it can flex under your boot and it has a back release on the binding which is suppose to be better for tricks in the pow. He said retail is 320 but sale is 120. or the other binding was Look PX12 which ive heard of but is it good for a pow ski? Retail-300 selling for 100. Anyone have experience with either of these? +k

It really doesn't matter where you use it as long as the din settings aren't too low or too high.

i think i'm about to buy a pair... but im on the east and i ski about 50/50. maybe 60 park/40 all mtn. where do you guys think, like +8 maybe?

ive got the mojo15s... pretty similar... i dont know what to say, didnt ski them a ton but i was always a little wary of them, but at the same time i never actually prereleased or anything.

no one should mount these skis center thats fucking retarded. Mine are at +5 and I feel like its a little to forward when im skiing pow. If your not doing any park really i would go +2 or 3 if u like a more forward mount 1 would be good too but I like how they ski a little more forward. If you have any questions feel free to pm me I skied this ski about 80% of the time last year. What size did you get?

Which seths are we talking about?

i have obsetheds, and i rode the seths before they had the mini tip rocker

both are fun with a center mount, kills all mountain and in the park, of course i had the 189 so the center mount didnt really kill all mountain performance, it actually makes it better because you can get turns around quicker

just get a big ski, i have 189 obsetheds, and rode 189 reg seths and center is a great place because they still kill it all mountain but make park way better. i actually like center mount better for all mountain riding, it makes it way better for tight turns in narrow chutes and on steep stuff

yeah i'll think about just goin true center. that makes skiing pow a bitch though. but then again the rockered tip might fix that. and a 189 would kick my ass. im barely 6' so i'm deffinetly gunna go 179.

im about 6' 165. and were talkin the 08 seths here which i hear run big so 179 really measures out to a 183. but you think i should go +6? how far back is that from true center...

i definately think you could handle the 189 and you would like it because it adds so much stability and it still kills it everywhere, how much are you planning on skiing switch in pow? with the 189 you could mount further towards center and still have just as much tip as the 179 and more tail for skiing switch. hmm if you were to get 179 i think +6 would work fine, but if you were to get the 189 id suggest mounting at about +8 seeing as center is +12.5 im pretty sure.

how advanced of a skier are you?

are you going to be skiing fast and hard?

do you think you will be getting any bigger this year?

if my memory serves me correct, +7.5 is center.
i have 179s and plan on going no farther forward than +6 and no farther back than +4.... i think ima do +5.5...
this for ontario + trip ski with 60/40 park/'allmountain' in the east and my pow ski for trips(no park when i am on a trip)

well its a bit late for that, i already bought the 179s but im also on the east in NH so i dont htink i'[ll be gettin too much pow out here. as much as id love to ski switch pow i only get a few of those days a year. i think i'm gunna go +6 with the 179s though.

I think I am mounting my obsetheds at +8 or 9. I'm a west coast skier and already have a pow ski(madens) and several park skis. But I plan to use these almost daily now. Probably more park then pow, and want good switch pow riding abilities. Opinions?

its right. 7.5 is stated as center... so its core, but measured center (half of tip to tail) is 12.5. the core is set back somewhat traditionally... bigger tip than tail.

no i didnt say true, but core should be good either that or like +9 would probably be really fun. but since you have the 179 core is probably fine

by my measurments, on the new obsethed core center is true center. on the 179, its 72" long, so 36'' is center...and at te 36'' line there is a mounting mark that reads 'core center'.
from traditional mount, core center is 7.5 cm ahead.
the only explanation for the 12.5 cm claim is they are talking about last years seth, cause this years is known for having all of their mounting points moved way far forward.
i am holding the ski in my hand right now and just did the measuring.

haha damn right. so how far back from true center is core center? and how far up from the recommended or whatever are these centers?

to tell you the truth anywhere from 7.5 - 12.5 will be great for what you are looking for. but ya 8/8.5 would be good
