K2 rivets

I bought the k2 sight last year and the rivets made me not want to buy their skis again

1. A few of them popped out after 2 days. I'd like to believe they are just a marketing gimmick. I mean how long will a ski last when the thing that's supposed to hold it together breaks after 2 days?

2. I don't know if i just suck but they sometimes get caught on the other ski which is kinda unpleasant at higher speeds

Apart from the rivets i was happy with the ski but if k2 ever plans on improving it they should remove the rivets or at least make them more durable
 
Have k2s, never done either of the things you've described or heard of that happening from anyone. How do you get your ski cought on the rivet?

happens mostly from the impact when landing, i guess it's kinda my fault for generally having my skis too close but still kinda annoying when it wouldn't happen without the rivets
 
I have the 2019 sights and my rivots popped out. I just called k2 and they are sending me replacement parts free of charge

always seemed like the oddest cosmetic choice to make. none of the actual utility a real rivet would offer, but more parts and a hint that the ski needs rivets to stay together? just seemed like a bizarre thing to do

But they look metal ?haha. Yeah they did kind of look cool but I actually like the me clean design without them much more.

agreed. no accounting for taste i suppose, and plenty of people liked em of course
