K2 revolver tbl or revolver pro

just wondering what boots to go with. thinking of buying new boots and i’m not sure whether to go with the tbl or the pro. the nearest boot fitter to me is like 2 hour drive away and i’m not sure i want to make that drive. thinking of picking up a pair of boots, then getting them custom molded once i head out to whistler this spring break. i used to use salomon QST access 80’s but the cuff felt too tall and too tight. i have really large calves so i’m not sure if i should go the tbl’s or the pro’s. anyone have an idea what might be better for me?

i mean i found a really good deal for the tbl’s

The only difference between the two is the strap and the paint, as far as I can tell. Buy the cheaper one and get a booster strap.

i mean the cuff height is completely different too. the revolver pro’s have a higher cuff because men’s ski boots, while the tbl’s have a lower cuff because they’re the women’s ski boots. idk if my calves would fit into which. i have really large calves because genetics but idk.

Out of these, I'd go with the TBLs just for the Grip Walk lmao. Fuck walking around on alpines.

Keep in mind that there are a few other Revolver options, and all of them come in men's/women's versions, which as you pointed out have different calf heights. There's the base boots and the "Pro" which both use the OG Raichle shell with alpine soles, the Team model with the new shell, tongue liners, and Grip Walk soles, and the two actual pro models that are the same but with wrap liners.

I'm sure you know this but you should ofc try the boots on in person with a bootfitter. Maybe the men's models fit you just fine... maybe you don't fit Revolvers at all ? You have no way of knowing until you do

Was going to say this. Lower cuff on the TBL so fit will be different

Yea but it's literally just the cuff with these boots. The shell is the exact same as the Team and Wallisch's model.

yea i think it’s just the cuff being different. i have a hunch that i’ll probably fit better in the women’s line because i had been using a salomon qst access 80 which the cuff was way too high

So the tbl and revolver pro are pretty different. The tbl uses the revolver plus shell which is the old fts shell the big advantage is the replaceable soles so you can potentially keep the boots longer by replacing the soles as they wear. The revolver pro uses the standard revolver shell or the old fto shell.

Other differences will include the slighter lower cuff on the tbl but the liner remains the same. The tbl also has a cam buckle power strap and is stocked with shorter cables as this is what Taylor wanted.

If the slightly lower cuff works for you go for the tbl it’s the better boot.

I didn't know about the cables! Does the TW boot have the same thing?

The cables are just one size smaller than used on the mens boot so 5mm. Yes they can be changed if need.

okay so may go with tbl but just want to know, how much shorter are the cables? and is it possible to replace those cables

Nope Tom was good with the length we had been using

if i have pretty big calves, and lower calves, then would it be better to go the revolver tbl model?

If you are worried go for the wallisch. That will be the same as the tbl but with longer cables and the slightly taller cuff.
