Doug had actually been helping us create the ski that came out as the Coomba.We are all still processing Shane's passing and when the time is right, I am sure we will do something that properly honors the character and contributions of Shane. It is really early to promise anything concrete right now and as I stated above, I think many of us are still in the early stages of accepting what happened. Shane was a guy who you liked if you knew him for ten years or ten minutes and he really did amazing things for skiing.

Unless I'm mistaken, Shane named the ski the pontoon. It should stay that way. I'm sure he was in the process of coming up with some crazy new idea for some new improvement to powder skis... and if that ever comes to fruition of course it should be named after him. But why rename something after him if he named it in the first place?

Anyway the way to remember shane isn't a ski with his name attached, it's to ski pow. A lot of us were influenced by him in how we do that. That influence is going to be passed on to the next generation of skiers who are inspired by watching this generation, and the ones after that. That's how you pay tribute to the guy... keep his legacy alive. Keep skiing.
