K2 reckoner 102

Looking into buying park/all mountain ski for next year. I've looked at vishnus but i feel like the wets aren't wide enough underfoot and wides are too wide for me. I ski at a mid sized new england mtn and am around 5'6 and like 140. I'm not super good in the park just basic swaps and some 2s on but hopefuly bigger tricks soon. I want somthing thats pretty soft and floppy but the wets kind of scare me cause i feel they might be too soft. I've been looking at the rec 102 but the k2 website says they are 7/10 flex. So im looking for a ski thats buttery and can hit medium to large jump and preferebly 95-105 underfoot. Sorry for making this whole thread just looking for some recommendations.

my 112s been holding up all season, no edge cracks or anythin, just something I’ve noticed

Depends how much they see metal. Each personal account I’ve heard from the 102s they’ve lasted sub a month. Granted it depends how hard you ride and how hard you detune, but ‘Spose the poachers durability makes the rec 102s look like a joke

I was moreso suggesting I think it’s just a 102 problem, i don’t beat the shit outta the 112s cuz I’ve heard all the horror stories but I’m pretty surprised at how they’re holding up.

Also yeah, nothing compares to poachers. The Allplays seem to be on track but idk if I’ll get 5 years outta them

If they make the 102 of poacher durability K2 is gonna do somethin big!

I hope the all plays go all of 5 years too dawg!

I've never ridden wets but 7/10 flex rating on the reckoners can gtfo. It's like 3-4/10 they have a bit of backbone under the bindings but the tips and tails are very soft. Fun ski but plenty of people have had durability issues. If you buy them detune heavily beneath the bindings and stay on top of any problems.

Other, better options:

Surface Giver (100 underfoot, 600$)

-Have not tried them myself, surface rates the flex a 4/10

Armada Edollo (98 underfoot, 520$)

-A less buttery ski but very stable on jumps, you can still butter it with good form

ON3P Mango 100 (100 underfoot, 800$)

-Very easy to butter, ok on jumps

Line Blend (100 underfoot, 520$)

- very fun and playful, but terrible on jumps, may explode after 2 days

Jskis Allplay (98 underfoot, 700$)

-Have not tried them myself, but I have heard they are incredibly playful

Unfortunately they will not hold up. They are very very soft in person, so no concerns about it being too stiff

I find them pretty stiff but they get softer on use. Have then center mounted, that can affect the feel. Mine are also heavily detuned like real heavy, but under 2 seasons they are pretty much done.

i think they have fixed the issue since last year. also think it's all about luck with the first years, seen some first editions still holding up

Reckoners sure as hell aren’t a 7/10 flex and by my experience, they wont break in a week like others here are saying

I have friends who have broken poachers in under a month. My reckoners survived 2 seasons of A LOT of metal

Givers are indeed NOT a 4/10

So ig rn I’m debating between the rec 102 and revolt 104 which one u guys think is best for what I’m doing. Rails, butters, jumps, all mountain, and occasional powder.

just replying to see the reply

Honestly go reckoner from what Ive heard they’ll do fine, but I think if you’re scared of too much flop consider a poacher? I was in your shoes and just bought poachers for mad cheap

PLEASE do yourself a favor and do not buy the wReckoners. My pair had multiple cracks in every four edges and one bulged sidewall after FIFTH DAY riding them.

Luckily got my money back and will not be buying another pair.

Mine hold up longer, not sure if others had bad luck or I good :D wide skis don’t like edge first landings to rails though.

Moved to Faction Prodigy 3.0 after the wReckoners, which is wider and not that much heavier ski and skied them just as hard for 115 days. Which is more than double the days I've gotten out of any ski I've had. Those include Völkl Revolt95, Armada ARV96, 2x Edollo, Line TWP & K2 wReckoner102.

And some people wreck their factions in no time :)

anyone know where the reckoner 92 fits in in this durability discussion? i'm hard on my gear but honestly i don't ski enough these days to be super worried about durability that much

looking at these ones (ignore the binding in pic) if it makes a difference. also how are the bases? fast?

Sounds like Misfit 106 would be perfect for u. I ride mine every single day and do everything from street to backcountry to big mountain comps and they do they all super well.

They have way more camber than any other ski i’ve come across and no metal so they’re super springy, basically just makes for a ski with a bunch of energy u can juice. Noses and tails are very soft but it’s stiff enough underfoot to hold up when ur hauling ass in bumps. Still feels so nice buttering tho.

Durability wise they’re actually incredible. I’ve probably put 50 days on em and have gotten one core shot (literally bucked into the air by a shark, hardest i’ve ever hit a rock) and dented the edge in by the tail when i clipped on a lip slide (probably should have destroyed the edge). I’ve landed straight on rocks, concrete, and stairs pretty hard and haven’t had any issue.

Final selling point is they’re $500 (currently sold out, pre order this summer) and next years graphics should be dope.

These things look dope! How are they on rails, jumps and other park features?

Popular skis get many whatever's, but the scale is WAY different than of the Candide's, which exploded left & right after a few laps. Their reputation is/was well earned.

Great on everything in the park. They're a 106 underfoot but I've seen kids throw 6s off with no problem. Swing weight is super low and they're very balanced in the air, and (as I mentioned before) edge durability is very high. If you're looking for a park ski that's fun elsewhere there will be a 96 underfoot coming out next year that's a little more park oriented (more symmetrical, slightly less camber, reinforced tips, etc) but the 106 is the ultimate all mountain ski that is very at home in the park. Can't recommend these things enough they're unlike any ski I've ever ridden and I'll never look back. If you're interested in demoing them and are around the Denver or Salt Lake area send a DM to @misfitskis on Instagram.

Can’t tell if bot account or not but I will be the real person to second misfits, I’ve seen enough from people that own that own and can at least confirm they are legit skis. Legit as in built like skis and function like skis, look pretty buttery, and seem pretty durable. Never owned them but I would bet that for $500 they’re a genuinely solid option.

You should be a brand ambassador for faction I always see you posting the same story about breaking reckoners and then buying factions and never having an issue lmfao

I don’t actually know what any of that means but I just meant low post count, no photos or videos, no threads, just a few replies in threads about misfits and nothing else, so I was backing up what you were saying lol

oh i know im just goofin, appreciate it tho. and yeah im just a NS rookie #notCore

Should I make up new ones or stick to my own experiences like I've been doing so far? Or should I answer every thread 189 wets instead and lower the quality of conversation here even lower?

The wReckoner 102 is a shitty quality ski and people need to know about it. The Prodigy 3.0 is, in my opinion, an awesome ski which compliments my skiing so many ways. Why wouldn't I tell it to people?

Oh 189 west responses are lame as fuck, I’m with you there. I just thought it was funny that every time I see a reckoner thread I see ur username and the word “wReckoner” in the reply and it cracks me up

Agreed. Get reckoners and you will have the time of your life, for about a week. Fun to ride but dogshit durability

Mine held up 2 full seasons with NO maintanance, not even one wax lol

☝️ this is so weird. The wReckoners explode left & right, most of the time within just a few weeks of riding, with very similar stories from across the globe. Yet here we have two rail skiers telling the complete opposite.
