K2 Public Enemy Opinion

I am switching to twin tips. I want to go fast, to intermediate tricks in the park, and still be able to do glades and moguls. I am wondering how the PEs are. I hear they are a good all mt ski. I am wondering how well they turn, if they r slow, and if they are a good ski all around. This would be my first twin tip so I will appreciate any suggestions.

K2 scilencer.

its basically the same thing sa the PE but lighter, more maneuverable, and has a softer flex. and its cheaper!

I have the PE's and I have done all of the above. I have even raced on them. They are an perfect ski for what you are looking for.

"I've heard this year's aren't as good...."

Same exact ski dude, hahahahahahahaha. Don't believe everything you read.

i also have last years, and they are pretty nice, the only real drawback is that theyre a bit to wide to really do well in moguls

yea this years ski is the same thing...new topsheet design..

i bought this years PE's and i'm looking forward to using them

ya i hear the PE are the poor mans karma so get the karma if possible but i got the PE this year 2 and i hear they are dope and do everything u just said

well i thought they were a slow heavy ski so i would immagine they could do rad gs turns but moguls and stuff would be harder

I've been rockin mine recently, great for pow, owning the crud and groomers. Depending on where you mount them you might find them a bit heavy, but nothing unmanagable. It's also a bomber ski, its not going to blow up on you. I've been hitting a lot of rails and the edges barely show any wear. I have a harder time with them in moguls, but I'm not a strong mogul skier (however my gotamas seem to hook up less). Overall sick ski, a true all mtn/park ski.

except the fixed the crappy ptex topsheet, but yea functionally same ski. and yea they are good for what you're looking for, if you can afford PEs they'll be better than the silencers. silencers are also cap construction I dont know why people keep tryin to say they're like old PEs just cuz like half of their stats are pretty similar.

I have last years and love them. I used to race and ski bumps so I know the predictament you're in. My brother bought the Karma's and I went with the PE's. If you want to go mach 2 outside the park, take the karma's otherwise the PE's are better. I ski bumps with the PE's just fine, my shovels are pretty scratched up on the sides but who cares about the topsheet.

Of all the skis I've heard for all mountain you always get the answer P.E. just cause kids want to do all mountain but want twin tips as well, and all the ppl i talk to love em a ton. It's a really tight all mountain ski.

I have a really beat up pair of 2004 PE's and really like them. I also have last years Volkl Karmas and love those even more. And I do more mountain than park so yeah.

they are alright. i have the 04-05 public enemies and i think they are pretty good. they kind of de-laminated fast though

pes ski awesome everywhere and despite my freak experience,

they are durable as well(i somehow broke both tails at once trying to 180 from mogul to mogul at the end of a line, but it was definitely a defect of some sort)

i havethe 08 pubs and there goood for all mountain shit but i do like all park so i dont like them as much. but i brought them to black jack michigan with me.. there park sucked so we just rode the hills allday and the preformed really well

so these will be perfect for what you looking for dude

PE's are a really good all mountain ski. fun to spin on. craves well. floats alright in pow. holds really well at high speeds.

word i got last yrs and theyre pretty sick you have so much surface to base on when going at high speeds and in park it's good i can jib, butter spin and stuff but im looking to get more of a lighter ski for park but im still keeping my PEs though sick for all mtn and pretty good in pow!

I just got used Silencers after I broke my 2.5 year old PEs. The Silencers are a lot better in bumps and groomed I find, and a bit better in pipe, But I liked my Publics better for rails, jumps, glades, powder and pretty much everything else. They pretty much were just a funner all round ski..I found the Public Enemies were more lively and had a bit more pop, and they also floated better in powder, and they were easier to maneouvre in tight trees. I had them mounted at +5 though, and my Silencers are mounted at +8 which I think is 2 or 3 cm back from true center. also the PEs were 164s and Silencers are 179s (I'm 6', about 170 lbs for reference, and ski the east coast).
The guy that said PEs are a poor man's Karma is right though, I demoed 06-07 Karmas and I LOVED them. they were a lot better than my PEs, kind of similar, but they just felt souped up compared to teh Publics.

um...look at the first post date...who bumped this?

i had a reply all written out lol
well that was a waste of time

They are kinda like the old beaten up pickup truck that will never break down. They just keep and charging. But there is also some tank mixed in there too.

i have a pair of PEs and i love them highly recommended also because i last years and the bases are core-shot proof have hucked a good lil 20-25 footer landed flat on a rock hurt my foot but i wanst even close to a core shot

i was just reading my above post as was thinking "i dont remember this" but then i saw that it was in 2006. o well

dont get them! i have them and the edges suck! i havent done any handrails or many rails at all! and on one ski on the underfoot the edge is broken in two spots! and in the tip of that ski its starting to delam! i have only skied them like 10 days

i have armadas myself and i personaly think they are amazing. my cuzzin has the PEs and they are his first twin tip and he has no problems with them. they are a great ski but if u are just starting to twin tip and u want some k2s i suggest getting the silencers. they are a great all mountain ski that are forgiving in any aspect of your skiing and are great to learn on when hitting your first box or rail just make shur to get them center mounted or a quarter inch back and u should be fine
