K2 Pontoons...what size to choose

Hi guys, i got a question for K2 Pontoons.

How do you choose the size for a "weird" ski like this?

On spatula i suppose there was just a lenght (186) that was a nice one indeed.

What do you think about?

Is the choice done exactely like for other ski or conidering the shape is necessary to do different considerations?

^they ski short go for the 189...I jave skied both on some very deap days and while most shop guys will tell you to go 179...you NEED the 189...you wont be sorry,

I am about 5'11 180 and over skied the 179's ...TRhese skies are very different than the spats many of my squaw valley spat addicted friends did not immediately dig the pontoons...but byt their third run I could not get my pair back from them

I disagree, I skied both and liked the 179's better. I think the skis float enough at 179 and if you're skiing a resort then you're going to bennefit from the shorter length skiing in the trees and tighter terrain. Sure, if you ski Mammoth or some other wide open mountain then you're never in the trees to begin with, but if you want an all mountain ski, I'd say get the 179's...

'couse unfortunately most of the palces where i ski have LOTS of trees!!! and i have to mange with them.

At this moment i got SV 179, they work great but looking for something for going bigger in the days I go in Austria, or switzerland or if 'i'm lucky enoug in Canada or alaska.

That's why i was looking also for the prophet ....but it's an hard deal to make considering the shipping cost (and taxes) to italy of this stuff!!!

well i live in Italy, and i ski mostly in Dolomiti .

I'm not far from austria (3 hours) and sometimes i go there for fresh pow.

This year was unbeliveble. So i love my SV but sometimes i feel i need something with more "personality"

you will be surprised by how quick the pontoons turn in tightness...the narrow tail works sick...just lean back a little and its like back foot stearing on a snowboard
