K2 Pinnacle 118

The K2 Pinnacle 118 is Seth Morrison's Pro Model (the replacement for the annex 118). Was thinking of getting them as a dedicated powder charger. Will the 177 be good for me? Is this even a good ski?

I am 5'8 and about 130lbs and I am an aggressive advanced skier

I have not skied the 118 but I have been testing the 95 which although narrower keeps a lot of the same characteristics. They are a charger, they just want to go fast. They feel like a beefed up version of the atomic automatic to me. If you like to shred hard and charge tey could be awesome. They do come up long, I have the 184 and they are big on me at 5'11 and 160lbs

As a relatively skinny person I don't want them to be so stiff I can't flex/ride them

Well they are certainly stiffer then most k2 skis, that was infact the biggest surprise when I got them that they were actually stiff.

Perhaps ps look at the pepitor instead. At your size you will have no problems charging on them but they will still be playfull. Super fun ski just a bit soft for me.

I have since read into the pinnacles and petittors a lot and think i will still be able to charge in the petittors

You will for sure. They were a super fun ski when I tested them juat at my size somthing a little stiffer would help.

One be thing which doea help on the pepitor is a more forward mount. Don't be afraid to go -2 or even -1cm on them.

so i am also planning on touring with these, i have marker dukes, to shed weight i was either going to get kingpins or go for a CAST setup. I real question is should trust the kingpins hitting 20 foot cliffs and skiing tuckermans ravine, or should i spend the extra money, and get CAST for that extra assurance on the downhill?

Why not just stick with the dukes. The cast system will not save any real weight over dukes. The kingpin is awesome but if I was goin for full on big mountain freestyle stuff I would stick with a frame binding. I rode the kingpin hard but te tech toe will not be as sturdy as a standard toe found on a frame binding.
