K2 pe vs. foils

i demoed the foils and really like them, but im pretty hard on skis and wonder whether the public enemys would hold up better

depends. if u ski alot of park i would get the PE as there really durable and last a long time. In saying that i have no idea about foil durability. The foil is an amazing all around ski so if u ski alot of everything it is probably a better choice.

The foils are nice but they have a foam core so they don't retain there pop for that long, and don't last as long in general

Both a good skis.

One of them looks cool and is good in the park.

The other one is light, quick, rips the park and impressive on hardpack.

One does not last longer then the other, both are durable.

You figure it out.

So not true, compare the two skis when in the shop. Both edges last the same... Edges are all made @ the same place... like ptex.

i ride pes and love them but i was also lookin into the foils it also depends on how heavy you are if youre heavy go with the pes if not try the foils

if you like to break out of the park and rip some groomers then go with foils they carve nice because of the spaceframe design and cut through the crud real well and the pe's are very chattery at high speeds

This is complete horseshit.

Take a PE ski, and a Foil, and put them next to eachother. You will see the edges on the PE are 3 or 4 times wider (thicker) compared the the Foil.

Just because you like Salomon, the Foil ski, or whatever your reason, does not mean you should give out false information.

that's just stupid too. I ride mojos, which are the stiffest park ski out there, and I have also ridden PE's. The mojo is definatly more comfortable at high speeds, but hardly compares to a race ski. Unless you're one of those kids who considers 30 mph a high speed

it doesn't necessarily matter how comfortable the mojo's are at speed, we're talking PE's and salomon's here. besides, you never negated the fact that PE's are in fact comfortable at speed, you just said that mojo's were better.

LETS ALL ARGUE instead of giving the kid an answer! arrr my mojos are stiff arrrr!

seriously. ok i had the same prediciment when i went to PC and had to choose between the two. personally, i liked the PE's better. i skiied the bowls the whole time and they were stiff and just great skis. couldnt really butter them, which was a huge change from my fujatives. the PE's look cooler too. no old men had PE's. every middle aged/old guy seemed to have foils or guns. for me, thats an issue. im not going to lie about it. call me stupid, ignorent, or lame. i dont really care. the PEs are just alot cooler.

i dont know about foil but i have ridden the p.e. a few times.

P.E. is dead in the park, u get no pop at all, they suck at high speeds, if i hit 20 or more i get crazy wobbles, they are stiff but they still arent good at speed, or park, they suck in the crud, i was skiing at my crappy mountain and was getting stuck in crud constantly, they are also pretty damn heavy, the only good thing about them is durability

what year PE are you guys riding? does this year's really suck? because i have the 04/05 and from the sounds of it, last year's is a completely different ski..

would you upgrade to the guns, instead of foils. the guns are sick with upgraded everything, just an all around fun ski. i demoed the pe and thought they were like tanks, heavy but mad durable

You are looking @ the thickness of a edge. From the ground up they are all the same thickness.

The poster just said it himself he does not do rails... it's a none issue.

I got PE's and there sick for park and all around skiing. I was looking at foils too but they were more expesive than the PE's

I rode the PE's, and I thought they were a sick ski that could do absolutely everything...

...until I rode the 1080 foils, they blew me away

If you're not hitting rails often, I'd say get foils. They carve so nicely, very very good outside of park. Lil' better than PE's from my experience.

i ski the foils.. but i live in PA and theres really nothing challenging to do except park so i pound the rails... they seem to be holding up nicely so far...
