K2 Mounting Positions

Hey there,I have been running K2 all my life and im really confused on their mounting positions. I have a pair of silencers and i had them mounted at K2's "core center" and they were it least 2-3 inches from true center.I just bought a pair of 179 hellbents and i put my boot on my ski and lined it up at the core center mark and its basically true center.... Does anybody know why K2 has different mounting points on their skis?

Thanks

they probly do it by weight of the ski. the hellbents are more symmetric than the silencers, so meaning that there is more ski material in the tail in proportion to the tip than on the silencers. just what i think, but im not sure why they do it if thats not the case. i know all their skis have mounting points that are different (like center on one ski is real center, on a another its back a couple cm, on another its real far back, etc)

k2's core center is where the core is the thickest. i suggest busting out a measureing tape, finding true center, then figuring out where you want to mount from there.

totally depends on the ski, if a ski has a rockered tip then core center will be further back, if it has an equally rockered tip and tail core center will be pretty much the same as true center, and if the ski is a normal twin core will be about 2 cm's give or take back from true, symmetrical twins will be exactly on core centerso it's not specific to brand but ski shape, core is thickest part of the ski, true center is the exact center of the ski

yep i just measured

just for clarification true centre is the length of the ski divided by 2

and core centre is the centre of the sidecut i believe (not 100% sure)

I believe sv420 is correct, I just got the 09 hellbent and flipped them around and compared "core centers", they are really close to true center (I almost can't tell if it is true center or not)
