K2 Mindbender 108TI size

I'm looking at getting a pair of K2 Mindbender 108TI this year, but I'm stuck between the 186 and the 193. I'm 6'2", 170 lbs, advanced skier. I'm on the east coast, and I'm looking for this to be my daily driver ski. My ski style is definitely more aggressive/fast, rather than flowy/playful. I like to ski steeps, trees, bumps, and pow when there is any. I currently have the Atomic Backland 109's in a 189, and I love the size. I have a hard time thinking about dropping down to a 186, but I'm also worried that the 193 will be to much to handle, especially in tighter areas. I'm planning on mounting them at +2. Thoughts?

I’m 5’10 150 soaking wet and own the 186. Also an aggressive / fast skier. I can go as fast as I want on these through all types of conditions. I ski west coast. I do find them kind of a pain in the ass in really steep and tight spots when im not committed but they are mounted on the line and I’m used to more forward mounted slightly lighter skis . Not sure this helps.

I’m 6’1” and weigh about 195ish and I personally ski the 186 in the ski. Most all my other skis are 192+ but with the metal in the 108 and how stiff they are combined with a much longer contact point the 186 skis and “feels” as long as my 192 pow skis. It’s a powerful damn ski so just keep that in mind. I have buddies who are 50 lbs heavier then me and same height and they ski the 186 as well. I haven’t met a person who skis the 193 yet. Hopefully this helps. It’s a damn fun ski!

K2 like ON3P tape measure close to their stated lengths, so a 186cm MB 108Ti measures just a hair below 186cm or similar to most other companies 188/189cm skis. The 193cm would be too long for your size and conditions, so go 186cm.

As [tag=249646]@Greg_K[/tag] said, the k2 mindbender 108 in 186 will probably be the the exact same size as your atomics in 189. And the mindbender will be a much more stable, heavy, and damp ski. I'd go 193 if you really want to make the mountain bleed or you're looking for all out float, but for bumps and ice and crud you'll be better off on the 186.

My daily driver is the Reckoner 112 - 191 but for the 108ti I use the 186 as it's a whole lotta ski with a whole lotta metal. They are rippers and super fun but I felt that when i skied the 193 I just felt like I was holding on for the ride instead of skiing the ski.

I would be careful of the +2 on these skis though because you dont want to miss the Ti plate area on the ski.

I appreciate all the feedback!

You think it will be an issue? Blister's review said they were fine at +2, they even tried them at +3, so I'm thinking it should be good to go there?

193 will definitely be a step up. I’m 6’ 185-190 and I just bought the 193. I’m planning on using them as a daily driver, mostly groomer days and steep terrain, as well as an occasional tour (threw a CAST Pivot on it)

I haven’t skied them but I think with the amount of rocker tip and tail It’ll be the perfect size for me. As for you, you’re looking to use them in the trees as well. Did your backlands feel too long in the trees? If they weren’t, I don’t think the 193 would be too much.
