K2 Marksman binding mount location

I’ve got some 2018 184cm Marksman’s headed my way. Any recommendations on mount location? I’m 6’2” 200lbs and ski all mountain ... mostly a directional skier. BlisterGear reviews had it at +2 from traditional.

Thanks NS’ers!

Ummmm. You're a lot of dude for that ski, and it's not much of a directional ripper. I'd say bump back to -4 to -6 from center.

So 1-2cm in front of traditional line just as you said in your review? I appreciate you weighing in here and your Blister reviews. Am I too much “dude” for this ski? I am mostly directional, but I like side hits and am trying to take my skiing in a more freestyle direction.

I’ve skied the Kartel 108 in 186 mounted on the line and had fun on it, but also thought it was a little planky. Also skied LINE MPO’s in 193 mounted at Eric’s Choice (-2cm from center) but didn’t really like it at all.

Thanks again!

Ah! ok, hearing that about the Kartel makes me feel better. I'm a little shorter and lighter and don't like directional skis, but for me the Kartel is just about a perfect flex. So if you want a bit softer than that, the Marksman is perfect. Just don't expect it to be like a "straightline at mach 8 through moguls" sort of ski. It's going to be a super forgiving ski as you try to get a bit more jibby. The Marksman and Catamaran are the most forgiving skis to spin and butter I've ever been on.

Yeah, + 1 or 2 from traditional should be great.

And yeah, man, I sorta hate all the current Pollard skis in their longest length, not totally sure what it is about them....

Thanks Cy - I appreciate you weighing in. I’ve liked chargier skis in the longest lengths, but surprisingly, I liked the Kartel 108 in 181 a lot more than the 186 (I had wanted to demo it in 191 initially). I’m hoping that the Marksman is as much fun as others have described despite my extra lb’s - otherwise, it’ll be for sale in a new thread. ?. Thanks again!

Bumping this thread so I don’t have to start a new one.

Is it the consensus that the marksmans ski best at +5.5 from traditional (-2 from core center) for all mountain rippin?

I had mine originally -2.5 from center and did not get on with them. I moved them to -4 from center and they feel way better. I ride the catamaran at that mount point too.

Thanks for the refrence point traditionally all my skis have been at -2 bacons and black ops. Guess with the shape of these I’ll push them back another cm or 2

Had a pair mounted -3.5 from center and absolutely loved them. Moved the bindings to -1.5 to be more park/jib oriented and hated them....

I’m pretty sure you’ll like it. I absolutely love my 184’s mounted at -5.

Supposed to get give or take half a foot for Thursday so I’m going to try and take them for a rip then!

I'm 5'8 160 lbs and I'm about to get the 177's. Just wondering what ns recommends for mounting - I was thinking -2 cm from center

I've had mine for a few seasons and they had demo bindings on them at first. I used that to play around with mounting points from -1 to -5. Then I re mounted with Pivots at -3 from center which I found to be perfect to have a good freestyle and carving balance. I jump them, mess around on rails once in a while, butter, and can still rip all mountain and softer snow.

Mine are the 184 and i'm 5'11" 160lbs.

I got myself a 177 marksman

My height is 178cm and around 60kg

I mainly ride off piste and Jumps in the park, i would like to get into rails n stuff like that too.

Where should i mount my bindings?

Im thinking -3,5 from center. Would that be fine for rails and spins, or should i get closer to center?

I’m 180cm, got the 184 mounted -3 from center. I wish my local hill had any sort of all mountain, I’ve almost exclusively used them in the park. Only about 5 days on cliffs and steeper stuff.

They’ve been great for both! Although I’m not sure if I could be having a better experience in the park with a different mounting position.

I think when I was researching the same thing most threads said -3 or -4?
