K2 Hellbent skis

Hey everybody what's good.

So after riding a bit with someone on Hellbents today in the park, my skepticism about a 127mm underfoot, rockered pow ski being good in the park was absoloutley blown away.

I definitely want to demo them before hand but there is one thing I'm curious about.

So I'm 5'9 150lbs. and ski on a 176 Ar6 now which I regret not getting in the 181.

I've read that the Hellbents ski much shorter due to the rocker but how much?

Would someone like me feel overwhelmed on a 189? Im not like a pro skier obvi, I'm much better all mtn. than I am park (I'm meh at the park, can do a 7 w/o any grab, some ok 5's and so on but I am still working out my style).

I'm not a spin to win guy so I'm not worried about the swing weight or anything but would the 189 feel wayyy to big even for spins 7 and under. Also, how quick are these in the trees? I hear the rocker makes it easy to pivot but I don't know so you guys gimme the low down.

Thanks

I have to say, you need to get some of your facts straight.

It's 122mm in the waist(not 127)

they measure longer(not shorter, so a 179 will go to 184)

and i dont understand how you can do 7's with any grab but you sketch out on 5's, it's just odd to me

no I wrote w/o, "with out" any grab, on the 7. And my 5's are "ok."

And sorry for the 5mm mess up. My bad.

Also about the measuring thing, I could be completely wrong but I read that on some sites so again, I'm just trying to get some info.

So sorry.

These are the best skis I've ever used on a crud and powder day. I've never had so much fun on a pair of skis! They ski short, so don't let the length fool you. Also, don't let the guy in the shop of lift line question your sanity. These are great skis on the groom, and are soft enough to hammer the crud. The graphics are what they are; hellish and I actually like them. This ski may start a revolution in reverse-camber! Have fun on them!

Yeah dude that's a review from backcountry. But I dunno. I'm not meaning to come off as a dick when I say this but have you actually skied them?

doesnt k2 have some weird measuring system where they only measure effective edge? in which case the skis would measure to more like 184, so i think they would be fine for u

i donno, if they measured effective edge of a rockered ski (if it was 184 measured normally) i dont think it would come to 179. it would be much les than that

So does that mean they are litteraly measuring the length of the edge? Not the height of the ski standing on the ground?

Hellbents are dope tools to be used on certain conditions, but if you

are skiing them on groomers and you live on the east coast have fun

with a 179 that skis like a 120... they are dope for buttering, but

come on get real, press a non rockered ski like a real man.
