K2 Domain

I'm looking at the the K2 domain. Everything about the ski has gotten great reviews, except for 2 aspects. The top sheet of the ski, and the weight. Is the top sheet a major issue? Is it a "heavy" ski?

i owned a pair forever and i finally got the 2013 k2 domains!! My other ones died after 2 and half years!my top sheet was never a problem for me, it really only gets banged up if you crash on a rail hard and land on the top sheet or if you take it threw the woods alot because the trees hit it!! but it was a really solid ski for me and i love them! there not really heavy, they feel heavy in your hands but when you put them on your feet they feel amazing! very poppy, light, and stable and i recommend them to you, you will love them best ski ever. And there indestructible they are such a strong ski with 3.5 edges and great base! you dont gotta worry about them! BUY THEM

Thanks so much! These skis Seem to be amazing according to everyone I've talked to, hope I can find a pair for a god price somewhere. Thanks again.

I forgot to ask what binding you had on the ski and if you have a recommendation as to which one is good for the ski. Anything come to mind?

Oh shit my bad!! DEFIANTLY get the 2013 Rossignol Axial2 xl or xxl (if you can)!! if you do think the ski is on heavier side which i doubt you will these bindings wont make it worse, they are the lightest you will find and they have the strongest heal piece and heal release!!! SUCH A GOOD BINDING, that is what i just got on mine! i 100% recommend you get them on the domains if you get them! its the best setup in my opinion!!!!

pretty much everything i came to post. skied mine over 70 days, all of which were park and the occasional tree skiing adventure, last year and no edge cracks. topsheet is in solid condition not missing any chunks. i did lose one of the rivets but its no big deal.

Such a solid ski, very light when they are one your feet. Buy them now!!!

They are amazing skis, I have a pair, the top sheets seem to be pretty good so far and I don't find them heavy at all, overall amazing skis

free steez speaks wisdom, I've got the 2012 domains with some 120 axials and they're great. The domains are a "fun" type of ski for jibbing buttering around and basically making it easier to do fun stuff. I've only done some pre-season jibbing but I love it so far. The axials are great bindings, most elastic travel means less pre-releases, and they look great with the skis.

Alright, thanks for all your help guys. Looking for a pair for a good price, and my birthday's in 2 weeks. Definitely gonna be getting a pair of these for this season. Can't wait!

there great on jumps there really stable were you need them to be!! you will have no issues on jumps with them great ski bro

Not anymore. All the older ones are sold out.

Domains are soft and rockered. Thus, they are not the best ski for jumping. They really are designed to be a rail ski. If I were you, OP, I'd get Recoils on Evo now (it's like $220 with the sale). The K2 team mostly uses them (or Iron Maidens which are basically the same, but this year's graphics and name) and not Domains because they're a bit better all around. It's a bit stiffer, which is better for jumping.

my domains have been great thus far (minimal jibbing). really poppy and fun for butters and presses and. I such was also concerned on how they would hold up on jumps but Im pretty sure Sean Jordan competed on the 2012 domains rather than the recoils which give me faith that they will be able to hold up on jumps.
