K2 Domain VS Armada Halo

Well I can't deside, K2 Domain or Armada Halo.

So I hope some of you can help me out.

What is good and what is bad about the skis?

Okey.

I'm 5'10 and I ski park, 60% rails 40% jumps

I want the skis to be poppy and light.

I ski on t-halls and I love them.

Either one would be great, the biggest differences are the Domain is symmetrical with tip and tail rocker, while the Halo isn't symmetrical and it only has tip rocker. Also, the Domain has zero camber, so they wont catch on rails, while the Halo has regular camber underfoot. The Halo is a little bit lighter, but the Domain has thicker more durable edges. If you have a shop near you that carries both, go there and check 'em out, see which ones you feel you like better, but in my opinion you really can't go wrong either way.

Thanks dude!

I'll go to my local shop that have both skis and see what I end up buying when they get all the skis in store.

this is awesome advice i personally prefer the Domain because i think the fact that the ski is symmetrical really helps. Im closer to 80% rails 20% jumps im from the east but when used at Hood the Domain showed itself to be more than capable of both. K2 is a great company to work with and they make the most durable skis. But honestly hes right they are both great cant screw up either way.

yes and butters were smooth but one time i did try to nollie way too hard and ended up digging my tips and going straight to my face but yes surface swaps were so smooth. With zero camber underfoot there is no catching or anything on rails so its super nice. I would recommend it

i havent ridden the domain but i will just throw in here that every k2 i have ever experienced has been BOMB PROOF. super solid construction

yea for sure but it was end of the day at the bottom of hood so basically water skiing at that point. id imagine it would be really hard any other time.

I still have problems with what skis to buy.

Armda Halo:

+ Rocker/ early rise

+ Bombproof base

+ Reliable and Armada always delivers

- Non symmetrical.

- Expensive

K2 Domain:

+ Rocker/ early rise and 0 camber

+ Symmetrical

+ Cheap or cheaper than armada.

Not sure about the base/ topsheet and stuff about the Domains because I haven't tried the k2 park skis

So if you have some more + and - about the skis that could help me chose I would love it.

K2 generally measures a shorter length of the ski than most companies, so the 179 Domain should come out around 183ish. I haven't seen the new line but I would imagine they are measuring the same as they have in the past.

K2 skis are also always BOMBER, I have a pair of 07 Silencers that are still in very good condition and have been ridden pretty regularly by people (it's the ski I lend out if someone needs a pair for some reason). Also, the waist is a huge factor - a 90mm waist will help make the ski more versatile and stable.

the armada site describes the halo as having "Subtle rocker in the tips and tails with positive camber underfoot."

Is the rocker in the tip much more pronounced?

easy- alphas for tightt turns, jumps, and more catch into turn feel

domain for looser, more buttery feel(from slight rocker but more importantly no camber and for sure a K2 noodle flex).

If you want the domain of those 2, look into reno rockers instead.

^

And I own alpha 1s, haven't skied reno rockers but it's a bit obvious that that's how they'd be. Just like 0 camber partially rockered soft pow skis in park(but lighter!). I'd think

actually, I'm not sure on that one - I was basing off last years alpha 2 which only had tip rocker, so they must've added the tail, but I'd guess it's not as much as the tip since it isn't symmetrical (since the mounting point is farther back, the nose should have more rocker than the tail).

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy the Domains.

But Reno rocker?

Never heard about it?

Somebody have more info about that ski?

i would go with the k2s i have the disordalys(the domain is the newer version)and iv had no problems with them,(well the only thing is top sheet being chipped but they fixed that) and every thing that was a lil ify the fixed with the domain i would get them over any ski.......

Just look it up, if you want a buttery rockered park ski then get that over K2s for sure. Much better quality, lighter, poppier...

Every alpha ever released has tip and tail rocker, and just a tad more tip than tail, and plenty of camber. The rocker is pretty short, and they aren't buttery skis IMO.

Borrowing the thread a little; i'm 175.5cm 5'8 long and looking to buy the domains. I've been skiing 2 years with Atomic punx that are 173cm long. Should I get the 169 or 179 I've heard that the sizing measurements for k2 is different so the 179 is actually like 184? Can anyone verify this, cuz no skishops in Finland has gotten them yet.
Thanks
