K2 Domain Sizing

So I've noticed people saying the Domain ski's a bit longer, hoping to pick up the 179 when a sale occurs, and I have the money, so how much longer would people say they ski? I'm on 177 afterbangs, they are about nose/eye level, and I enjoy that size, so 179 will be a decent upgrade, because I'm not looking for something huge, also factoring in they are supposed to ski longer. Fanks
 
I have heard they ski short, but also that they ski long. So I'm assuming that it is just preference considering they are rockered skis. Also those should be perfect for length, hope this helped
 
K2 only measures running length so tips aren't included, so 179 is really 181+ however since it's rockered you'll want the length.
 
My 179 domains are actually like 183. But because of the rocker they will feel like a 179 or maybe a little less.
 
This. They measure short of literal size but ski true to listed size, since, as said above, K2 measures running length. Sounds like 179 is gonna be about perfect for you.
 
Ya I have them in a 179 and they defintley measure out to a 183, but they ski like a 179, great skis but I have 2 edgecracks within 4days of use so im pissed on that
 
I'm sorry but this is so insanely wrong. If they did that, the difference between the measurement they give you and the actual length would be massive. I measured my 183 cm Line Chronics and the running length was right around 150 cm.

To the OP: for whatever reason K2 skis are always a bit longer than what they say. The 179 cm Domain will probably actually be 181-182 cm. However, since they're rockered they feel a bit shorter while skiing. You'll be fine with the 179 cm length.
 
I have the disorderly which is the predecessor to the Domain. I first bought them at 179 and they were bigger than me. They are now the same size and I have never had any issue with them. Definitely recommend getting them at 179.
 
so if you went with the 179 as opposed to the 174, would the former be significantly heavier? I am worried about swing weight being higher than the 177s i have now
